Puppets War Take To The Skies In Their New Dragonfly
January 26, 2013 by brennon
The fantastic flyer from Puppets War has finally hit their webstore, and it's named the Dragonfly. Check out the fairly massive piece of kit below and start thinking about the next project that will include it...
"Set contains all parts need to build "Dragonfly" Aircraft, including 27 components. Model is designed to fit 35mm tabletop wargames scale (300mm length from front to tail, and wingspan of about 260mm). Do not use glue to connect the parts: 8,9,15 and 18.S upplied unassembled and unpainted."
It looks a little bit like a cross between a Space Marine vehicle and an Imperial Guard one, with a few little extras to give it a bit of individual flare. I particularly like the tilting rotor blades in the wings, very awesome.

I don’t like the flying brick aesthetic of the Imperium kit
Would have been nice to see something a tad more refined, but is an improvement on the GW/Forgeworld stuff imho
And do agree that the wings look good which gives credibility to it actually being a flyer
Do you like the DA fliers?
They look better without the reliquary gothick gubbins, but not entirely enamoured. Remind me a bit of the stealth Comanche helicopter that lost out to the Apache, and never entered service. To be fair there is a problem with design flyers for 28mm games. You could easily design aircraft that look super cools and convincing. But they would be too big and unwieldy for the tabletop. Then they also need to be robust. The wings on the DA flyers are fairly typical of Imperial aeronautical design. The leading edge are far too thick. On the whole Imperium flyers just look… Read more »
This looks miles ahead of the space marine boxes that GW have as official releases.
Looks awesome. Surprisingly reasonable price too!
Ornothopter. Dune based terrain or game.
Finally, I’ve been dying ever since they put those previews out!
“Do not use glue to connect the parts: 8,9,15 and 18.”
What am I supposed to use?
Blutack?
Wishful thinking?
Without seeing the instructions, I would imaging they have slots that when assembled allow the fan units to tilt and rotate.
No different from the propeller on your Airfix Spitfire. 😉
