Puppets War Size Up Their Battlesuits For Release
December 17, 2013 by brennon
Puppets War have been teasing you about these for a while now and here we have a bit of a scale shot to show you how the Puppets War Battlesuits are sizing up against regular 28mm infantry. There is even a section of their website all ready to go for their release!
They still look exceptionally cool and if folks have been wondering about that little tabard that hangs between their legs, it does look like its a component that you could remove if you wanted to. Not sure on that of course.
Are these going to be the perfect antidote to the Centurions of the Space Marines? I have to say the little infantry soldier standing next to him is a bit of a gem too!
Have you been waiting for these?

That looks so cool
The tabard thing I was not a fan of, but I can imagine it being extendable and dropping down for extra protection so would be able to live with it. I can even hear the noise it would make! lol
The infantryman looks pretty sweet to
Well done Puppet Wars
That big bot is exactly what I imagine the centurions should look like. I also like his shorter mate beside him. Turbans are so under represented in games.
I already own some of the previous version, the Rippers, from puppets war and sadly they are not really big enough to be called centurions. Still that didn’t stop me, with some conversions they had new shiny grav weapons with gravamp, missile launchers and a visual bulk that comes close to actual Centurions. The key is not to necessarily match the volume of Cents but give an illusion of it. I wonder if I have to upload some pics or something to get my point across. In any case, the hardest part is the base since Cents have a 50mm… Read more »
Almost forgot, the tabards are not separate pieces. The body, tabards and legs are one piece with the arms and a head making up the rest of the models which makes it a total of four pieces. I am also sure that the canopy on model in the picture is a seperate piece, since the rippers are open topped.
I’m not sure what to make of the tabard myself. One the one hand, it’s a fantastic device for turning a near miss into a solid hit, particularly with rocket or missile which just needs a hard surface to detonate against. ..but on the other hand if the battlesuits are used to spearhead an infantry assault, that tabard will help to ensure that small arms fire doesn’t pass between the legs and take out the advancing infantry behind it.
The infantry model however is awesome. The guys with the helmets remind me of the Strogg and I kinda like that 😀
is the turban head available or is it something new cant find it on thestore
I think that was part of the sneaky preview @dekinrie 🙂
Well, I don’t know… I happen to like the tabard myself.
Of course you do. It gives you more surface area to show off your mad painting skills 😀
Not a fan of the tabard but I guess it couldnt be that hard to remove, otherwise I like them.
personally , if I was in a big assed suit like that , I would as much armour , especially around the old chap , that the tabard would provide…
The infantry next to him is very cool. I’m thinking tuareg
