Puppets War Send in the Cyber-Warriors
September 10, 2012 by brennon
Puppets War have a mighty host of Cyber-Warriors arriving today. Check out these deadly guardians of a lost tomb world below and grab them later on today!
These look pretty special. I love the carapace style armour and the frankly brilliant guns. A fair few Necron players might be looking to pick these up as Counts-As Immortals?
The whole Cyber-Warrior range from Puppets War is grand, but it raises an important question. Would you actually build an army using their myriad units? Of course the army would look stunning and unique but the chances of you using it in anything other than battles with friends are low.
How do you guys actually feel about that?

IP theft a little?
I appreciate GW lines need some supplementing but seriously.
In my experience, most people don’t actually ever play in “official tournaments.” Personally, I see no difference between kit-bashing something unique you’d have to point out “counts as x” and buying someone else’s work that that does the same. Not everyone is talented in the modeling side of things. If it looks good and people are having fun, I say go for it. Fun is always and should always be the primary goal.
I much prefer this sort of thing than an army of chaos marines with giant Hello Kitty heads.
My comments have nothing to do with the tournament scene or the likes. I just feel that these figures are going to far. They are not clever additions to GW figs, or nice “count as x” pieces to liven up an army. They are a direct rip-off of GW’s necrons, unashamedly and unimaginatively. I use Kromlech helmets for my Grey Knights as they add something different, Ramshackle Games bikes for my IG, a MAS mini as a Journeyman Warcaster. They all add to the forces, I wasn’t talented for finding them, but these are just copies and I feel that… Read more »
I disagree. They look more like Star Wars Destroyer Droids with skull/Necron heads to me. Putting a metal skull on something might not be original, but metal skulls are not GW’s sole property. GW doesn’t get a pass for putting a funny hat on the Terminator and calling it their original creation; they rip off plenty. You mentioned bikes… I’m sure Judge Dredd wasn’t ripped off at all by GW and subsequent “homages” from other companies. Lastly, since the purpose of these is obviously to include them in GW armies, they are supposed to have a look. It’s why your… Read more »
