Pummel in Puppets War Power Armour
May 30, 2013 by dracs
We've been seeing previews of it for a while, but now Puppets War have shown us what the full mini will be like in its chunky power armour.
This guy looks huge and it's not merely a standard suit of armour that's been made a size bigger, this really looks like it has the power and protection sci-fi heavy armour promises.
Having said that it does look clunky and ridiculously impractical, which I suppose is only fair given that it appears to be a more realistic interpretation of heavy power armour. Although I don't really get what the point of the armoured flap hanging between his legs is for.
Still, if we wanted something truly practical we wouldn't be playing games of science fiction would we.
Tell us what you think of Puppets War's new suit.

Actually the groin/leg guard makes a lot of sense 😉
This is supposed to be a suit of heavy armour and a natural weak spot would be the groin/inner thigh area. Due to our biology the armour would have to be thinner here making a weak spot. Unless you want to try walking while doing the splits 😉
So kudos to Puppetswar, it seems the sculptor has sat down and thought about someone actually being in a suit like this, how our biology would create weak spots in the armour and how to compensate for it.
Maybe he’s just hung like an elephant?
Thanks for the visual 😛
Maybe he doesn’t want to be nutmegged
The sculptor has probably just caught the “must have a curtain dangling between the legs” disease and transposed it into an armadildo.
I never understood those armoured groin flap things either, all they do is increase the potential frontal surface area for shells/bullets to hit….
But anyway, just like huge impractical shoulder pads they don’t really have to make sense do they 🙂
The groinguard has to go, its big and impractical.
I was almost gong to say we have seen this before, but this is the variant with a helmet instead of the cooler screen visor.
The iron flap serves two purposes;
– the blast wave from the front is less likely to destabilize the feet
– the suit being intended as the “walking shield”, the pointman of a breaching squad, it should provide maximum protection to the following teammates.
… nah, it’s still funny. 😀
It could be hiding a crotch gun like in From Dusk Till Dawn.
I just wear Y-fronts and make sure my fly is zipped up to hide my crotch gun! 😛
But then I ain’t hung like an elephant! lol
I think if they cut out one link of the crotch guard it would look a lot better.
You mean the top one don’t you?
Go on admit it! lol
I think the groin-shield … which is probs retractable from the looks of it (sci-fi-wise) serves quite a few purposes actually as stated above by lucas.
