Privateer Press Present a Scrapheap Challenge
March 27, 2012 by dracs
Privateer Press have put up two videos previewing upcoming card games of frantic Goblin DIY. Heap and Infernal Contraption!
First up there is Heap.
Heap takes the Goblin Bodgers from the existing game of Infernal Contraption and sends them on a real destruction derby.
"Heap is an all-new card game for 2-4 players that places the goblin bodgers in vehicular combat around a giant scrap heap. At stake are the valuable parts piled up in the heap, which can be used to modify the bodgers’ vehicles. The player who can outfit his vehicles best and win the final pile-up rules the heap." - Privateer Press
Along with Heap Privateer Press have announced the release of the revised 2nd edition of Infernal Contraption this summer.
Infernal Contraption sees your Goblin Bodgers trying to build the best and most maniacal machine possible before your opponents succeeds, sabotaging their machines while you go along.
"Infernal Contraption, 2nd Edition is a newly revised and expanded update to the award-winning card game of the same name. Infernal Contraption puts players in the role of bodgers racing to assemble maniacal machines. The card game for 2-4 players features 170 cards, including cards from Infernal Contraption: Sabotage!, the expansion to the first edition of the game that gave players the ability to tinker with each other’s machines." - Privateer Press
Any of you think these might make some fun new games to play with a couple of beers, or whatever your poison might be? Has anyone already played the previous edition of Infernal Contraption?

These games are on my ‘cartoony fun’ card game list to try, along with Munchkin (obviously) and Poo! from Catalyst. Which should I try second? I know people will tell me Munchkin comes first so that’s the question I have to ask…
Gloom.
Evolves into Vileplume. 😉 Linky?
I played Poo at the last Belfast juggling convention. Been meaning to write a review at some stage. Its a fast paced and fun game which doesn’t take long at all. I would definitely recommend you give it a go. However, it isn’t as fun when too many people play it. Justin also has a very good game though its rather more complex. I’m afraid I can’t remember its name. He and I played it one Turn 8 and I beat him in two moves. Given he had taught me how to play only the evening before the look on… Read more »
It looks like a lot of fun with your buds when your just wishing to have a relaxing night.
I know you guys gonna hate me but a Mobile version of that game would be really nice ( Android/Iphone at least ). Very cool looking cards and intuitive fun system!
