So for ‘Prefect’ Valeria, i guess her boobs are so big her nipples are having trouble seeing?
@ubiquanon … a quick wave of the magic wand and all is fixed… no one need ever know. 😉
lol, it’s Prefect not Perfect 😛
They are very good sculpts though, nice anime style going on there.
Lol… so it is… damn you hangover!
Well hey, nobodies prefect.
Perhaps if you’re still a little drunk you could post about primeval abyssian on here too.
Wait till they are painted. I’ve yet to see a good true Anime sculpt, one that gets the facial features to work right – the huge eyes / pupils, the tiny button nose, the out of proportion mouth (tiny when closed, huge when open).
Interesting point – Infinity has very anime-inspired artwork but it never really seems to carry over into the miniatures, that I’ve seen.
Color me impressed.
Nice. Any news about the incoming game?
It can’t be anime styled, the girl flashing her bum up at the top of the page looks at *least* seventeen… (trombone)
Oh man, the fact that they have color associations means they will probably have rules. I really do not like limited models with limited rules. That said they all look great, and if they don’t sell out by then, I will try to buy the set with my Christmas money.
NO don’t read the book Veronica! Your to revealing and everyone knows magic + hot babe = hentai sex monster!
So I took a stroll over at Soda Pop Miniatures just to see what these guys are all about. I was somewhat surprised at the marketing style. On the surface the stuff there really does seem to be deliberately designed to appeal to the juvenile or very young adult. In particular their us of bunnies, cats, squirrels, the extremely bright website coloring, and even their name. But I must say, these guys really do creep me out. I came across a mini entitled Fotan and Celia, which shows a potbellied gnome / dwarf reaching out to grab the ass of… Read more »
@ubiquanon , if you think trogan is that bad just as model of a lecherous old man, never EVER look at kingdom death’s demons.
Hey @dais, I’ve seen Kingdom of Deaths stuff, and they are really out there, but I don’t have so much of an issue with them and here is why. Let me start by saying I don’t think I correctly articulated my main point, which is that the problem here is not so much with the mini itself, but rather the primary audience that Soda Pop Miniatures targets, which is clearly fairly young kids. I do my best to try not to come down on the side of censorship as much as possible, but the exception to the rule is when… Read more »
@ubiquanon Thanks for clarifying your statement. Your really seeing more in this than I am but you have a right to your own interpretation. I personally don’t see anything that makes me think they are advertising to kids more than any other company (Mr.Tomn excluded, but he only comes with a very complex $50 mecha model anyway). To me it takes more than bright colors to be explicitly marketed to children, especially when the models are provided bare metal. In my experiences kids are always drawn more towards what they feel is more grown up and I think the kids… Read more »
So you honestly think that they are not doing more to advertise to a younger market? Look at the names of the characters, and the descriptions: “Candy and Cola: Candy, as sweet as her name implies, and as bubbly as her fox tailed friend Cola, ply the space lanes for the universes mightiest heroes and villains.” Thats not targeted to kids? And while what you get is a bare metal mini, notice that on their site there is not one image of an unpainted mini. I agree that GW has engaged in some questionable marketing / content as appropriate for… Read more »
