Pre-Order The Yoroni! New Conquest Faction From Para Bellum
January 13, 2025 by brennon
Para Bellum Games are now taking pre-orders for the newest faction to grace the world of Eä in Conquest: The Last Argument Of Kings and Conquest: First Blood. The Yoroni, Para Bellum's demonic samurai army, is going to be causing quite a stir soon.
Yoroni // Conquest
The Yoroni do what Para Bellum does best, mixing Japanese mythology with their Fantasy aesthetic for the world of Eä. They are considered a brute-only faction which makes them easy to play but hard to master as you get chucked deep into the bruiser-like gameplay of the faction.
The range comes with an absolutely stonkingly hefty set of beautiful new miniatures and if you'd like to dive deeper into the lore, you can already check it out HERE over on Para Bellum Games' website. You can also check out the reveal stream from Para Bellum down below...
Faction 9 Reveal // Conquest
With all of that being said, it's nice to get a look at some of the new miniatures and there are some excellent ones for you to sink your teeth into already.
New Miniatures
Using Japanese mythology as the cornerstone for this faction, there are some absolutely fantastic new 35mm scale miniatures for you to pick up starting with a few that have a great Oni vibe to them.
Oyabun // Conquest
The Oyabun is a tactician and duelist and their Resistance (Chi) allows them to take and hold portions of the battlefield. As with all of the Yoroni characters, they can share their abilities with the regiments they are attached to so you can turn your regular troops into similar stalwarts, hunkering down under enemy pressure.
This kit also makes the Daimyo who is a lethal close combat threat.
Daimyo // Conquest
If the Oyabun is the anvil then the Daimyo is the hammer. He is a brutal and powerful close-combat threat that can do the same as the Oyabun, transferring his abilities to the units that he commands. You can always mix and match your characters and units so that you can work out interesting combinations that other players might not have thought about.
A whole host of the units for the Yoroni are also available for you to pick up from Para Bellum Games, getting your armies ready for the full launch in March. For example, you can pick up the absolutely bruising Kami Ayakashi...

...and if you want to bring some more lithe and agile killers to the fore, you could also add in the likes of the Tengu Bushi. It's great to see so many of these cornerstones of Japanese myth and legend popping up across the army in the form of the Oni and the Tengu.
Tengu Bushi // Conquest
You can even get a tad ghostly and bring the spiritual Domaru-damashi to the tabletop. Para Bellum really have pushed the boat out on this new faction and I can see this becoming a new favourite for a lot of different folks, both as newcomers and as veterans.

You can check out even more of the new miniatures from the Yoroni range right HERE. Learn a bit more about the lore of the faction and how each of these miniatures fits into the overall theme of the army on the tabletop.
New Starter Set Options
If you just can't choose which miniatures to buy first, you can also get your hands on a couple of new sets to get you going with the Yoroni. You could choose the First Blood Cohort for example.
Yoroni First Blood Cohort // Conquest
This set comes with the Kitsune Onmyoji, three Kami Ayakashi, one Oni Ayakashi, three Domaru Damashi, one Kappa Bushi and two Tengu Bushi. This gives you a taster of some of the big one units and characters for the Yoroni and means you can start skirmishing right away in First Blood.
There is also a brand new Two-Player Starter Set option that features the Yoroni going up against the W’adrhŭn.
Yoroni VS W’adrhŭn Two-Player Set // Conquest
This set comes with...
- Yoroni - Daimyo
- Yoroni - Tengu Bushi
- Yoroni - Kami Ayakashi
- Yoroni - Oni Ayakashi
...and also for the other side of the box you get...
- W'adrhun Quatl (Includes Winglord Predator Character)
- W'adrhun Hunting Pack
- W'adrhun Raptor Riders
So, a decent set of miniatures for you and a friend to get stuck into if you're thinking of starting out with two new armies for the new year.
Special Miniature!
Lastly, you can also pre-order a special Limited Preview Edition miniature from the Artisan Series by Para Bellum.
Kitsune Limited Edition Preview // Conquest
This version of the Kitsune goes above and beyond the standard miniature, surrounded by their spiritual fox companions. The detail on this miniature is pretty immense and whilst this is a special miniature, it can still be used in your games. If you're a fan of the Yoroni look and you want to show off your support for the faction then this is a good place to start.
New year, new army time?
What do you make of the Yoroni faction as a whole for Conquest?

The miniatures are beautiful, but at a certain point the setting turns from a gloomy and depressive grimdark into some kind of circus and farce. Foxes, samurai, genies from a bottle, rakshassas, elephant and dinosaur riders – everything has become too eclectic, as if the developers decided to drag everything that was interesting to them as children into a traditional fantasy setting.
You must be fun at parties
Maybe. Let’s see what you say when the Transformers faction shows up.;)
I’m not convinced it was that grimdark a setting to begin with. Ok the undead and the the Spires are but the rest of the factions not so much. This is a pretty coherent set of Asian inspired models.
My heart is set on clockwork Greeks but these look superb to me.
yeah, not sure how this setting is ‘grim dark’ either.
I mean the constant warfare may not make it a paradise, but that’s all.
Maybe the problem is that there isn’t a lot of material and gameplay showing of the more peaceful side of things?
The Kitsune looks amazing for painting competitions
Agreed, it would be fun to paint. Not sure about the game, but as a model it’s outstanding.
The game rules are pretty awesome. For a rank and file game it plays super fast. It is like they looked at old wargames and said “it is time to bring them to 2025”
Cool – I’ve never looked at this as a game, just enjoyed the models. Maybe time to take a look…
Damn it …
Didn’t I say that I didn’t need another system in my life ?
The feral orkses with their dinos looked cool .. and now they’re paired with a second faction that looks spiffy ?
Why do this to me ?
