How to Play Warmachine pt.2 | Daily Tips
December 24, 2010 by lloyd
In the first video, Vish and Andy covered some of the basic rules for Warmachine. Now in this, the second part, they show us how to use some solo characters and units in your Warmachine game.
Another great teaching game. Hope more is coming. With more unites and differed Warjacks and fractions.
Just like to mention, Vish it probably would have been a good idea to demonstrate power attacks by attempting to throw that Ironclad onto Stryker. Still nice tutorial vids guys, I’ll be pointing potential players to them.
We have more tips videos done to show people how to use all the (best) power attacks, that we will be posting up soon.
These vids were designed so that people could watch them and then just jump into the game without getting too bogged down with all the extra rules. As more tips videos are released we plan to use them to give people more ideas and tactical advice on some of the more complex techniques.

Cant wait to see them. 😀
These videos have gotten me to consider playing warmashine
Thanks for the two vids guys. I really enjoyed them and they got me even more excited about the game. If I get enough spare cash next year I’ll probably just buy a battlebox to start a little Warmachine force of my own.
Loving the video series. I’ve been a big BoW fan for a while, so now that I’ve really fallen in love with Warmachine, it’s nice to have the same kind of coverage. Basic rules question I haven’t been able to decipher, and it’s come up in both of these videos but never gotten resolved. Sorcha’s feat makes all of the enemy models in her control area and LOS stationary for a round. Does that mean (assuming I go first), if I pop her feat and fail to kill your warcaster, on your turn the feat will still be in effect,… Read more »
Sorscha;s feat makes targets stationary for one turn, so that means all the models affected would be stuck on their turn too.
However, they could spend a FOCUS point to shake off the effect, which is what I would have done.
Hope that helps…

I think you should do this for every battle group. Oh and Vish…Let Andy win once in a while 😉
This is probably gonna sound silly, but what size are the stack cards. I am trying to find out what size top loaders to bye.
The help will be greatly appreciated 🙂
65mm X 90mm (approx 2″ X 3″)
Hope that helps…

Very interesting, although I still have to wrap my head around the fact that the warcaster = everything.
I got some Horde models, and I believe it works in the same way as warmachine except that its a risk management instead of a resource management.. Might just see if someone else at my gaming club has some hordes/warmachine and try it out for myself as it looks like quite an interesting game from the video.
Great vid guys! Me and a couple of friends have recently started collecting Warmachine, and it’s nice to see all the jargon from the core rules being put into practise!
videos like this are great! gives you a feel how the gameplay works…hopefully you guys do more with advanced stuff like power moves etc.
keep up the solid work and the productions are slick ;p
Thanks for this! I’m just starting out with Warmachine so videos like this are fantastic. I think the best way to learn is to watch an actual battle like this, so I’d be happy to see more of these videos. Keep them coming 🙂
I have also just started tog get an interest for Warmachine so this is just great that you guys started doing this kind of videos 🙂
I recently bought the Khador book to try to figure out what guys to have in my army but i don’t quite understand how the the army building works and how you count the points so if you guys could do a video on that subject it would be great 😀
Awesome … especially for new players that have begun to go through the motions of the rules. Nothing like visual aids to help out. Thanks guys.
ok I have a question on the charger and Jr. why did it take 3 focus to fire both shots?
The Charger has RoF (rate of fire) 2. So 1 FOCUS to boost the first shot, then 1 FOCUS to fire the second shot, with the last FOCUS point to boost the second shot.
Hope that helps…
thanks it helps clear how it works since when i watched it the audio on my computer was messing up. so does it also take a focus for a ‘Jack like the Decimator to fire it’s 2 shots?
