Pipe Up for Pardulon’s Latest Terrain Accessories
April 8, 2013 by dracs
Pardulon have released two new sets of terrain accessories intended to make a wall look like more than just a painted sheet of plastic, fuse boxes and pipes!
I've always liked Pardulon's range of terrain accessories. They fill a niche in the terrain market, bringing a sense of realism and purpose to your own creations.
Although not exactly flamboyant, little details like the pipes on the ceiling can help to make a setting achieve a sense of life.
Would you use things like these in your terrain building, or would you make them yourself?
Simple touch but the end result in the pictures is very atmospheric. Well worth the extra effort
Pipes are pretty simple and even the brackets are manageable
Trickier to do the connections but the really nice part are the bends. Convincing bends are not so simple.
Also time and fiddliness maybe an issue, so all in all they are a jolly good thing.
Are the days of painted drinking straws and brass/plastic rods bought from hardware stores gone, then ?
I do love the boxes, and the valves and details from the pipes, but it is more suited for small dioramas, not really adding anything to large terrain pieces (unless you can find rods and straws with the exact same size).
It certainly fills a gap, though, as there was a clear need for that sort of thing !
What would be really useful imho is a pile of the bends and connections to fit straws/styrene rod etc
Tamiya tape for brackets
Sorted.
I selected some sprue from model kits which had curved corners
Works to a certain extent but not perfect
Well, I’d guess that if you can find some rod that’s close enough in diameter, 1.5-2 mm, you could expand this set to bigger terrain pieces.
Looks nice. I would have thought they would have fire extinguisher overhead sprayers. That could be in the next kit they come out with 😉
Hmmm maybe working ones that come on automatically when the dude with the flamethrower lights up! lol
