Pilot the U.S.S. Equinox in Star Trek: Attack Wing
January 9, 2014 by dracs
WizKids have previewed the next expansion for their game of Star Trek: Attack Wing. Get ready to explore the final frontier in the Nova Class ship U.S.S. Equinox.
The Equinox has the handy ability to repair its own shields, meaning it is going to take a lot to keep this shop down and out.
In the expansion you will find a number of cool crew, weapon and tech upgrades.
Of course, what is a Star Trek crew without an iconic captain? Luckily the Equinox has two leadership options available.
Each of the captains has its own play styles and benefits. Rudolph Ransom focuses on defense, while Maxwell Burke is for when you are asking yourself, am I being offensive enough?
The U.S.S. Equinox promises to be an interesting tactical addition to the game of Attack Wing and I would be interested in seeing just how people will integrate it into their tactics.
Do any of you play Attack Wing? What are your thoughts on the Equinox?

Love that ship!
It should have been Janeway who died in that story.
Yup would have rather seen a show about the Equinox because it felt like they had done more to try and get home in one show than Voyager did in what… 5 seasons?
I have a lot of problems with Voyager, most revolve around Janeway.
Killing a species to feed them to your engine doesn’t seem very Starfleet like.
I feed my engine with species all the time.
Never followed voyager, been watching next generation on Tv the last few months.Maybe after next gen. They’ll launch Voyager again.
I looked at the models and I don’t like them very much, prefer x-wing, This looks a bit better, but still not to my taste.
I think I saw most episodes of Voyager but Star Trek for me became much too formulaic – every episode seemed to have a quota of pseudotechnical utterbollocks that substituted for characterisation and a plotline, though I did enjoy the holo-doctor’s journey towards individuality (using a lot of big words today folks :))
I play X-Wing and have been told this is basically the same game but the ships have other capabilities as they are not one-man fighters.
Is it just me, or do the old prepainted ships by micro machines look better than these minis?
The Attack Wing minis are actually rather good, the only real issue is that they don’t seem to have anyone shading them. A half decent wash is pretty much all they need to look a whole lot better.
