In this final instalment, Jon from Scale Model Medic shows us how to drill and melt our models, to give them appearance of some serious battle damage.
Warning - Some of these techniques involve heating metal, if in doubt get a resposible adult to help... NOT DARRELL!

Really nice tutorial ! I’m going to use this.
Are pigments really that useful/confortable to work with, though ? Do they really bring/add something more, as opposed to just using diluted paints or washes ?
It seems to me paint is just pigment + glaze anyway, only with a smoother mix.
sweet 😛 glad i got a sprey gun for christmas 😀
At some point in my painting learning curve I´ll have to add some pigments. And now I´m really thinking about getting some of those varnishes.
Nice tutorial!
A bit precise and methodic for me but really inspiring. Havent tried using pigments before myself, but the range of GW paints and washes, which I dont find limiting so far but I might explore some other products in future projects. My only change from GW products so far is the spray, as we all know GW black spray is actually grey 🙂
This series of videos is really great for me. I am feeling more confident now that I have seen the techniques directly.
Once I get my old Rhino built and painted, I will post a few images.
Thanks!
