The NuCoal Voltigeur Battle Tank for Heavy Gear Hits the Field
May 26, 2012 by brennon
Another awesome model rolls off the production line for the world of Heavy Gear by Dream Pod 9. Check out the NuCoal Voltigeur Main Battle Tank below...
Now that's one impressive looking tank. When you compare it to the size of the Gears behind it you can truly get a sense of scale on this mammoth vehicle. That's not to mention the amount of fire power this tank can put out. Voltigeur tanks utilise indirect fire guns aiding Gears as they attack in a deadly spearhead.
The tank has a variety of different load outs and even some accessories to make it just right for your needs on the battlefield.
I imagine most NuCoal players will want to pick this up!
What do you make of this powerful piece of kit?
Looks like a solid and purposeful tank. It’s clearly not as advanced as something like the CEF hovertanks but still has sloped armour to make it slightly sleeker than something like the rugged Northern stuff – it fits what I see as the NuCoal aesthetic perfectly. The weapon options should make it very versatile too.
its a nice mini looks great might ave to get 4 of them. Tank regiment here I come.
So it has double cannon turret. Well that model looks very good. Defenetly something that I would pick if I had NuCoal army.
Might add it to my Corporation army for Warpath. Is the kit plastic?
If your Corporation fancies go-karts for tanks, sure. The nominal scale for HG is 1/144.
Anyway, The hind-set turret and elevated guns make me think of SPG more than tank, but a lot of the HG tanks follow this type of layout so it’s not out of place. It’s nice, but Aller is still nicer. Esp. Naval version.
The turret’s bustle in the back hangs over the rear engine compartment. It’s closer to a Merkava’s layout than an Abrams.
Is this 15mm scale, or close to it?
No, the scale is 1/144, the size of the tank itself is about double that of a Hunter Heavy Gear miniature, so probably close to 65-75mm, would be my best guess. When I own one, I will let you know.
Roughly 10-12mm scale.
My favorite part is the little hatches on the front top sides that open like little ballistic missile subs and vertically launch the ATMs
