New 15mm Epic Fantasy Hornblower Coming From Mace Face Miniatures
September 5, 2024 by avernos
A brand new kid on the block Mace Face Miniatures has a range of 15mm Fantasy miniatures called Hornblower coming soon and produced by Nick at North Star Military Figures.
Hornblower Art by Kennon James
The first of the fantasy figures that are coming this month are Female Barbarian Shield Maidens. Starting with a ten figure command pack that contains four champions, three musicians and three standard bearers.

They have a fantasy norse feel to them, plenty of horned helms and round shields mean they would make fantastic barbarian models but also cracking chaos marauder figures if you fancy playing some old world on a smaller scale.
The bulk of the packs are armed with spears, hand weapons or bows they are sculpted to match Mark Copplestones 15mm Barbarian Range, each pack contains 12 single piece metal figures.
There are two collections also available to order one is a collectors pack that contains one of each of the four packs available the other is an army deal containing seventy figures to make 1x Leader Elite Unit, 2x Light Infantry with Wall of Spears units, 1x bellicose Foot unit and 2x Light Archer units and this has been based this on the popular Dragon Rampant Fantasy Battle rules from Osprey Games.
As you can see they scale perfectly with Mark's Barbarian range, I don't know if they've been sculpted by Mark but you can certainly add these to the army to increase available units. A website is currently under construction for Mace Face with the promise of more miniatures in the coming months I'll be eager to see what else is on it's way.
Are you going to be scooping up some barbarians?

15mm is not “epic” …
yes it is
Nope. 6-8mm is “epic”.
15mm is GARGANTUAN by comparison.
Eat it!
epic isn’t a scale, it’s an adjective and it simply means heroic or grand in scale or character.
you could even say it is also covered by the noun definition also
eat that 😛
?
I swear on the name of Nosebl0wer I have nothing to do with this
I think these look really good for the size. I also like the reduced size of minis we have been seeing more of lately, it is really helping me decide to go to smaller scaled gaming.
I hope Mace Face Miniatures makes those skeletons in the picture next. I will be spending money on all this range – and you can take that statement to the bank!
There’s a couple of photos on Mace Face’s Instagram of a painted skeleton and some beastmen too. They do look fantastic as well.
Thanks @scribbs just saw it.
