You need to model some rope or cables… worry no more!

Check out this new bit of kit from Masquerade Miniatures. A simple tool for makeing tubes, cables and ropes for customising and coverting your minis!
Look like it might be useful, especially if you're into sci-fi conversions.
What do you conversion makers think?

Terrible. I’d rather use the old mans tap and die set on some nice durable CHEAP metal or even old sprue.
Not to mention the hundreds of textured household items we could use instead of those tiny limiting blocks. Oh? Ok then: Towels, bath mats, jewel CD case edges, the speaker covers, carpets, textured walls, house bricks, woods, existing models in your spares boxes.
Oh and don’t forget the existing resin, plastic and metal items of pipes already existing in stores.
Hope I’ve encouraged some of you to open your eyes to the more fun ways of looking good while being cheap 😀
It’s great they’ve done plastic versions, still be a bit pricey, but no where near and much as the old resin versions were.
used piano and guitar wire. saved yourself some money. i use it all the time. need to work it over and shape it a little before you can stick it on your model but it works great
These are good if you want something an inch and a half long thats got to bend a lot, but if you want metallic/industrial tubing, guitar wire is still king, if you want rope get cotton twine and paint varnish on it.
The only thing wrong with that is that they are far two small, if they were alot bigger then they would be fantastic.
there has to be something out there with that texture on it already. I feel like I’ve seen things like it before, but I don’t know where.
