New Missions For Space Hulk Have Launched!
September 23, 2014 by stvitusdancern
Games Workshop has released three new missions for the new edition of Space Hulk: Space Wolves - Return to Kalidus, Ultramarines - Duty and Honour, and Dark Angels - Bringer of Sorrow. So if you were one of the lucky ones to get a copy, you now can add these to your adventures.
The new missions are available as a download thru iTunes and is an interactive iBook, which for me poses a problem since I do not own an Apple anything and do not use a Mac, hopefully they will make an android version soon.
The missions themselves take on new and exciting chapters and add new dimensions to the very popular game. It also lets shows you how to create new scenarios for the game. So, now you are not stuck using the miniatures in the box and can use those other armies you have that want to get in on the fight.
So I guess that answers the question that has been asked, if Games Workshop newest release of Space Hulk was going to be a "one and done". Very exciting times for any 40K or Space Hulk fan.
What do you think of these releases?

Each one is $16?! Jumping Jesus Christ.
AND the missions are re-prints of old campaigns that appeared in WD back in the 1st edition era of Space Hulk.
At least the new gear is all new (so far as I can tell).
Feel the love
We think youd like ; space wolf guard terminators (50$) and space wolves paint set (104$). After having spent 16$ on space hulk (100$?) missions that all sounds damn reasonable.
Hillarious as always
Really fancied the dark angels one, but £70 for the two sets of termies you’ll need? Get stuffed.
… you can always just use your …. imagination 😛
… or the extra termies from the dark vengence set I still haven’t used 😛
Having had a few sets of those DV termies as its cheaper to get those I should have the additional weapon options anyway on models so gives me an other use for my DA armies… just cant get it as no iPad lol
GW epic fail #13,452 Another example of GW failing to recognise the latent value of previous customers who may have drifted away but who they may have been able to attract back…
Why the %#@$ make this only work with the 2014 edition of SH?
Oh yeah… and slice your market in at least half again by only doing iOS…
And asking 16$ as if it was a f#cking DLC for a computer game
GW’s marketing strategy relies on people with plenty of disposable income who enjoy quite a bit of flash, a one-stop type of solution where they can get everything they want from one company even if it costs more, don’t mind constant minor updates that break backwards compatibility, or just want to be part of the popular crowd. Apple fans are exactly their target market. Android users are generally either people who care a lot more about the technical background/openness of the ecosystem, looked into an alternative product that better fit their needs, or don’t entirely care all that much and… Read more »
Less than half. Amazon does way more ebooks than everyone.
Think i have some dark angles termies lying around. i have a Double set of darkvengance.
Could sell these off for £40 🙂
Hi here. I’ve got the three of them. It’s way overpriced. The files in itself are quite good and add a lot in term of replay value as you can probably go around every mission for the V3 version with Dark Angels, Ultra marines and Spacewolves. ( I think that the point value given in the custom mission part could work for this purpose). Nonetheless if you don’t already have the minis to come with it will probably flush empty your pockets. You need 10 deathwing termi, 10 Ultra and 5 space wolves to be able to go through the… Read more »
Do you NEED deathwing terminators or could you use the ones out of the Space Hulk box?
That is, could you play the missions using terminators from another faction?
I think it is still a “one and done”. Let’s see if they release more supplements in 6 months, 12 months and so on. When they do, we can say that GW has supported Space Hulk. Until then, it’s just another limited run game.
Sorry, that last sentence should have read
Until then it’s a limited run game
No you could use any terminator you have included those in the box. You still as to use a count as method as certain weapons are specifics to certain chapter. You only need 10 terminators to do 2 squad. Basically its one sergeant, one champion/archiviste, one heavy weapon guy and 2 standard guys. The other squad is one sergeant, one heavy weapon plus 2 or 3 standards.
Cheers
Are these compatible with the 2009 copy of space hulk if I have the new tiles printed in white dwarf?
They’d sell a lot more if they made actual boxed expansions rather than trying to peddle data files for huge amounts of money. Of course it’s pointless to make boxed expansions for a game that is no longer available.
It is nice to see them offering more support for Space Hulk. A lot of people called for extra missions. It’s a shame it is only on Apple/iOS, and that’s only half of the market. I’ll have to wait for GW to convert it to Android before I can give them my money. I am also hoping GW works out the differences between the 2009 edition and the 2014 editions and releases a “conversion pack / guide” so I can give them money for that too. Unless of course GW do not do this, as there is no guarantee they… Read more »
It’s a step in the right direction but having it as a limited run seems… absurd to me. Do they think we will stop buying armies simply because there’s a standalone that you can pay for and be done with? Ridiculous notion. The whole reason we all get into this (me anyway) is to continue expanding my collections. If they supported Space Hulk half as much as 40k they’d not only be appealing to the 40k players but any new Space Hulkers would inexorably be drawn to 40k. It’s not one or the other – most of us like both.… Read more »
Now, GW actually surprised me! New missions for a stand alone box game product? I did not see that coming as I have posted in other places around here. Well, I think it is a good move on their side.
They are a re-release of old missions from White Dwarf.
But, hey- making things available that we want. That’s pretty cool.
I read some where that these are reissues of missions that were published in White Dwarf a good few years ago.
I would not out and buy new figures for them, but just proxy what I have.
don’t have an iPad so can’t get them… gutted as i’d have got the Dark Angels one.
I would buy if it wasn’t an apple thing. I have no apples
Yet again GW pandering to the (well-off) apple users then again if the can bye a 600 quid phone that will die 18 months they must have plenty of spare money.
they don’t work on the phones as far as I am aware.
Or PCs which is 80+% of the computer’s on the market.
The “money grabbing no love for the product” is really overshadowing any of the cool fluff thats written for 40k … Its sad but I dont have the energy anymore to admire that last 10% that is still decent about GW and 40k. Here i was hoping they would announce expansions and stuff for SH, but instead its three 16 dollar mission packs. Ok im gonna stop ranting, just pisses me off cause SH is actually one of those GW products ive always liked (was my first 40k boardgame)
I bought the new SH for my son but we play SH usin just normal marines and my 1st ed termies, an use 1st ed SH GS minis as they are painted already. Think ill ebay the minis from new box to pay for it all, though the terminators are quite nice. As for buyin ipod stuff…they can GTF. Genestealer an deathwing add-on missions from 1st ed are probably better and the 1st ed tiles fit into the new tiles just fine. This was the first purchace ive made directly to GW in years as I usually buy from ebay… Read more »
