Miniwargaming Give an Update for Dark Potential
April 5, 2012 by dracs
Hopefully you are by now aware that Miniwargaming are raising funds on Indiegogo for their own wargame Dark Potential.
Since hitting the $20,000 mark they have posted an update to let us know what they are planning.
Also they have provided us with a peak at a great bit of artwork.
This will be an elite figure for the Corporation. The artwork shows a nice, unique style of aesthetic, promising Dark Potential to be an interesting new game.
I am getting really excited to for this project. If you are too be sure to head over to Indiegogo and pledge your support to Miniwargaming.

It’s good to see some fellow Canadians in my neck of the woods coming out with something.
Prefer the real Corporation….for Warpath that is! At one point in time there was very few (if any alternatives to 40k) and now I feel there are too many. I sometimes think these small skirmish type games take market share away from each other, rather than taking it away from GW. Im putting my faith in Warpath, I think it will grow, turn into something slightly more original, but still familiar. It has skilled and experienced people behind it. But what I like most about Mantic is they think big in an industry when most companies start off small. Still… Read more »
I agree that the Corporation is a bit overused and does not strike me as a good name for the faction but I for one would prefer this game over Warpath. Random thought: Is it HERESY for me to say that I dislike the Kings of War and Warpath mechanics?
I’m fairly sure a lot of people dislike it, but feel no need to point it out. But give it time.
Jake Thornton is having a hand now in KoW, at least some minor aspects of it. I REALLY wish it was he who had written KoW, but meh. KoW is a pretty simple, easy game for kids and people with not much time, to get into. And it’s in the very early stages.
“Corporation” is pretty generic and straight forward. It’s fair enough.
just to mention that if you watched their videos he decided on the name corporation before warpaths corporation was revealed
I love MWG and am supporting this game. Here are some tips to people new to this project: The corporation is a working title and will likely be changed in the future. The fluff behind this group is completely different from the Warpath faction. This project is at a much earlier stage than you would ever hear about a major product as MWG Matt is trying to bring the community into the process. Therefore it is important to note that many things are unfinished or not finalized! If you can’t handle that probably just come back and look in 6… Read more »
Yup, the Corporation are definitely getting a name change.
The community has been crazy awesome in supporting this, and I hope to be able to return the favor with great looking miniatures and a fun game.
I just don’t see any room in an already full market for this. Best of luck though.
A Sci Fi game set in a post apoc future featuring various types of humans and aliens. I wonder how much hate I’ll get just for stating that it seems like its been done before. A lot.
@spaderfish No hate, at least from me. What you say is true, no one is denying that. That doesn’t reduce their ability to create quality miniatures or a fun game. That’ll be the real trial.
I’m not trying to imply that the product will be bad. Just that it could be different. With the trend being made to move away from just GW and people being more open to try new things, I just felt that it might have been wiser to create something other than what gamers are trying to move away from. Give them a place to go. I think it would be an easier sell.
It feels churlish to say it, and I really feel bad, but most of us went through this phase in private and got over it just as fast as they will. Its unoriginal, trite and exactly the kind of onanism that every gamer does at some stage. Most of us have the modesty to not make people watch it though. Sorry to be the sourpuss, I honestly am. Good luck to them, they threw out a “how to paint” before they were ready too, and they survived that OK…
Really nice concept art. I am interested to see where this leads. 🙂
