Micropanzer’s New 3D Renders for the Soviets
June 3, 2011 by dracs
Micropanzer Wargame Studios have put up the 3D Renders for their up coming Soviet Heavy Combat Armour unit.
These sons of Mother Russia are going to be made as 15mm models and I have to say that these images are looking really promising.
From these pictures it looks as if they are aiming for a really high level of detail for the miniatures and there has been some concern about whether the detail will transfer well to the actual sculpts.
All in all I'm really looking forward to seeing how these turn out, Micropanzer have traditionally had quite a good range of 15mm miniatures so its definitely looking promising. What about you guys? These images tempt you over to 15mm?

looking good. kind of a cross of space marines and the drones from iron man 2
My brother showed these to me earlier and they look sweet. I don’t know if I’ll have the money to branch out into 15mm gaming, although if they came out as 32mm sculpts I’d be sorely tempted to get them, I’m sure they’d have some use 🙂
is it just me or does the raised box on the right arm in the middle picture look just like a tau firewarrior shoulder pad?
Nah, too flat.

These look great, are they good enough to send me to 15mm probably not but I have to agree with warpspawned in 32mm I would defiantly be reaching for the wallet.
Sam the girly man found something good for once
If these are 15mm ‘war-walkers’ or ‘mechs’ or ‘gears’, wouldn’t they come out to roughly the size of a normal 28mm person-sized figure? If so, and if the detail is high, I could definitely see getting some of these to use as autonomous war robots or something cool like that, even though I don’t play 15mm. I wish we had an actual height to go by.
I was thinking much the same thing.
Especially considering all the detail in the “break apart” picture I seriously doubt these are going to be 15mm models.
There does seem to be a bit of a gap in the marked for scifi walkers, at any scale, but there are some companies producing really nice vehicles which can be used for various scales with little or no modification.
Yes, Don’t mean to contradict BoW Sam but;
The Admin (Owner) of the Mircopanzer website has these as the 32mm mini.
Also indicates the 15mm version would be 22.5mm tall, making these ~48mm @32mm.
click on the store page those are 15mm no way they could be bigger
Not seeing these on the store page. Am I missing something?
I was looking on the forum. Under ‘project slipstream 32mm product spotlight’…
We need a Sci fantasy dungeon crawler of some sort thats sort of a hybrid hitch hikers guide to the Galaxy. For all these uber sweet models rolling out . A sort of focus point game wise for this present critical mass of models… I would be totally happy with just a rulebook to pour all these other games into.
Anybody know of one ??

Now that I have gotten my nerd on…
The price is right but 15 mm is brutal to paint I have like 8 boxes of arcane legion painted up I swore I would never go back to 15mm again. However looking at the models and the price -I dont know got to see it played.
Well AE:Bounty is flexible enough to stat up preeetty much anything.
Maybe a bit too combat orientated for an adventure style game but it has rules for fighting on space ships, areas losing gravity, decompression and the like.
For full on investigative with a little combat I’d probably use .45 Adventure slightly modded for science fantasy because it is enough of an RPG/Wargame mix to do fun investigation type stuff as well as fight.
I picked up AE:Bounty at GenCon last year and I really want to start playing it. I love three things about it: sci-fi, skirmish level, and you can use whatever miniatures you want.

Wish it was 28mm. Kinda reminds of SC Terran Marines a bit.
I like the concept art a lot. Kind of Infinity looking.
Looks awesome… wouldn’t mind getting some to use as alternates for Heavy gear or something. 🙂
those minis are looking cool, but i cant stand 15mm games. the minis are just too small to me.
i dunno i do like heavy gear. is that 15mm? i guess i like that one because its mostly a mecha game, and i really dont like playing with infantry. its just me
but these are definitely looking really cool. ive been bumping into their site every now and then seeing some great stuff.
Really enjoy the details put into these 3d models. Also after the price hikes from GW and the high res-plastic cost but no extra models I needb a new war-game. This could be it.
They look very nice but its a shame they are 15mm and i have no use for them. If they ware a larger scale i would definitely think about getting a some
I think they look awesome! not sure id buy any yet, but well done regardless. I’ve been getting into 15mm lately (thanks to Khurasan’s horrors from beyond range).
28mm or GTFO.
15mm!!!? Needs to be like 50mm
