June 22, 2012 by brennon
Worthy Painting have been hard at work finishing up another of the Starter Sets for MERCS for us. Check out their impressive handiwork on the Keizai Waza Starter Set in the video above and through the images below...
What do you think? We're very impressed with the work and can't wait to get playing with them. More MERCS coverage is soon to be appearing on the site so stay tuned for plenty from this stellar looking game.
Have you played MERCS?

Those look awesome. That reflection effect in they visors is nice touch.
Nice paintjob for sure.. Not too sure about the minis themselves though.. Somehow the armour makes me think of the old battle beasts figures
The scenic bases really set off the more dynamic posed models – it makes them look as if they’re actually leaping down off something rather than leaping for no reason. Loving the fine edge highlights to the armour colour as well. Also interesting to note you can leave the cloak off the sniper (as that’s not a second Heavy Hybrid), I didn’t know that was a separate piece. Great work.
This box set comes with some unusual but pleasantly surprising options. The sniper has two heads, and the cloak is attached to one of those heads. Also the actual heavy hybrid, comes with three sets of legs to choose from, but without hacking the other minis in half there just for the heavy hybrid.
Does anyone know how much it costs for them to paint one of the starter sets?
Was thinking the same thing. The low model count would make it a viable option for a high standard paint job to.
Looking good, but I do miss the sources lightning on the chestmounted (IronMan-style) reactors the MERCS studiopainted team had…
I think that was Photoshop…
Those are absolutely beautiful! I started playing Mercs a year ago, and the game is amazing. If you haven’t started playing yet, I recommend trying it out.
They look really good. Now give’em to me!
