May The 4th Be With You – Celebrating Star Wars Day At OTT!
May 4, 2022 by fcostin
May the 4th be with you! Today is Star Wars Day, proving a great time to celebrate the festivities, and place yourselves in a world of lightsabers, blasters and more pew-pew-pews than you'll ever be ready for. Why not get stuck into some Star Wars-themed tabletop goodness?
We have got a few things running on the site today. Gerry, Warren and Free have embarked on some space-filled hijinks in the Star Wars D6 Roleplaying Game taking the roles of a Twi'lek, Wookie and Mirialan in efforts to write off their debt for their prized ship, The Lazy Gungan. Can you guess who is playing who?
The content doesn't stop there. This Friday, there will be a special weekender: Return of the Sixth. Plus as a substitute for XLBS this week - there will be a continuation and the second adventure: joining Warren, Gerry and Free and their Mirialan, Wookie and Twi'Lek counterparts in their quest for credits, earning a reputation within the galaxy.
Check Out The Star Wars Day Character Creation Competition
ENTRIES ARE NOW CLOSED - Winner Will Be Announced on The Weekender This Friday!
If you want to try your hand at our Character Creation Competition too. There are three different categories, if you have been selected as one of our lucky winners - we will provide you with a physical model copy of your winning character in plastic.
We have compiled all of our Star Wars related content into one place below, whether you are keen on diving into some X-Wing, or looking for some inspiration on how to paint your Legion models. There's plenty to get stuck into, to inspire your plans for the day... or week (if you are as excited as we are)!
Star Wars Let's Plays
First up, we've got a bunch of Let's Plays that we've created for Star Wars: Legion...
We hope you enjoy giving these a watch. Whilst you can obviously watch these videos like this, we are also streaming them on Twitch too throughout the day. However you want to dive into some Star Wars gaming goodness on the tabletop, we've got you covered.
Additionally, we've also got this awesome Downed AT-AT Battle that you can watch here...
You can also check out one of our Cult Of Games Let's Plays where we played through a rematch of the Star Wars: Legion Skirmish rules.
Check Out The Rematch Here
Make sure to share with us if you're playing some epic Star Wars games to celebrate today and maybe upload your antics into a Project.
Star Wars Hobby
On the lobbying side of things, we've also got a bunch of great videos where we've been building gaming tables and painting plenty of models from Star Wars: Legion too.
You can also check out the FULL Star Wars: Legion Downed AT-AT Table Build where John destroyed one of the massive walkers and turned it into a superb gaming table as you'll have seen above.
This gives you a snapshot of the kind of awesome tables we've built for Star Wars in the past. If you've got a Cult Of Games Membership then you can also check out some videos from John...
There is a lot of hobby goodness on the Star Wars front there to keep you going.
Star Wars: Legion Unboxings
If all of that goodness hasn't got you excited then you can also check out a bunch of Unboxings we've done for the Star Wars: Legion range over the past few years. This might get you excited to snap up some Star Wars goodies from Store.OnTableTop.
- Unboxing - Sabine Wren
- Unboxing - Clone Captain Rex
- Unboxing - Droideka
- Unboxing - BARC Speeder
- Unboxing - Count Dooku
- Unboxing - Jyn Erso
- Unboxing - Rebel Pathfinders
- Unboxing - Inferno Squad Unit Expansion
- Unboxing - Clan Wren Unit Expansion
Also, if you want to check out some Unboxings of the two Core Sets which are available for Star Wars: Legion, we've got those too.
Make sure to tell us which of those two sets has appealed the most to you. We like the classic clash between Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker but the Clone Wars seems to have more opportunity for epic clashes with lots of combined arms fighting.
X-Wing Endor Aftermath // Check Out The Live Blog
Before we dove into playing Star Wars: Legion we also spent some time playing X-Wing and got to set up a great ground-based scenario for people to play out.
Download The Unofficial Beasts Of War X-Wing On Endor Scenario HERE
Set on the forest moon of Endor after the destruction of the Death Star, floating asteroids were replaced by dense woodlands as the Rebels and Empire fought in atmosphere.
You can follow along with the Live Blog we ran at the time as well in order to get a proper feel for how this battle played out.

Also there was the Star Wars Bootcamp back in…. 2019? can’t remember. And it would be great if the X-Wing on Endor rules would be found in the archives.
Last but not least: ALL THE PROJECTS! https://www.beastsofwar.com/project/?fwp_project_game=star-wars-legion
@sundancer – do you mean this?

Yes. Last time I tried the link (some time ago) it didn’t work…. or was that another Star Wars House Rule? could be… time is a mess… thank Lloyd
You forgot my Star Destroyer building, detailing, painting and lighting project. So, when it suddenly gets dark in Oldenburg during the daylight hours today, you know what’s up… 😀
Don’t blame me for the project system not having a general Star Wars category 😉
Good to see all the content gathered together, finally managed to get a game of legion in recently (on TTS but I take what I can get). It went surprisingly well.
Are there any lets plays planned for the shadow collective when they turn up later this year?
A few of my Star Wars-minis and models on Flickr: https://www.flickr.com/photos/195439188@N04/
I remember when the video’s came out great to get another chance to see them all.
Good Lord, this is a lot of Star Wars content.
May the Fourth be with you; or for Americans: April the Fifth be with you.
Where do you find out who won the heroforge contest?
Please disregard. I already sent a claim on my prize, and thank you.
