MaxMini Prepare to Display the Beauty of the Jungle
May 11, 2013 by dracs
MaxMini have published a piece of artwork to preview their upcoming Jungle Fighter minis. When I hear Jungle fighter I would usually think Rambo, but MaxMini have gone for something a bit different.
Yes it's the missing girl from Sucker Punch.
Hot pants and suspenders are not really my initial thought of a Jungle Fighter, but given how little the Imperial Guard Catachan fighters wear she could still make for an interesting alternative. Though I hope they choose a different pose for the actual model, this one makes her legs look slightly deformed.
What do you hope for with MaxMini's Jungle Fighters?

I really hope they go for a more stringy, wiry look for the mussels like real gorilla fighters as apposed to GW take on the Rambo, Predator body builders. They might have looked OK back when they released them but now the Catachan are just goofy.
I have no problem with female jungle warriors, especially when it has this mix of native and modern style.
I’ve always had a soft spot for GW’s Jungle Fighter range (mainly as they were the first IG units I brought back when they launched the regiments in metal), but the plastic Catachans from the first boxset really are showing their age. I’d be quite happy to see something more along the lines of the JF command & heavy weapon sprues though. THose look far less cartoony in their musculature whilst still evoking a Predator vibe…..
I know exactly what your talking about. Even the new command and heavy weapon sets are forced to look like Arnold due to the older sets. It be even odder if they made them toned down compared to the older stuff.
MaxMini can crack this one out of the ball park if they do them right. I for one would love a revamp of the jungle warrior look.
The nice thing about the original Jungle Fighters was that across the metal range yeah, they all looked like they pumped stupid amounts of iron, at least there was enough variety to make them en masse look interesting, plus the Perry’s sculpts were layered in detail (flak jackets, vests, the odd bit of armour plate). I have a Catachan army built using just original the plastics and it does look a tad odd, all those chaps in just fatigue trousers due to the torsos available… But the command & heavy weapon sets are noticeably smaller compared to the main JF… Read more »
if there the same as there combat torso and legs and space police helmets , great (still need arms for these guys).
If there cheesecake , midriff baring , big breasted impossible pose females….then ok to that as well , but would like realistic posing though and well thought out models.
Come on guys,Catachan mini’s look great. All steroided up i love em.I have loads of the baby ogryns and think they look ace. They always remind me of predator.Big dudes all pumped up isn’t that weird, just go into most proper weights gyms and you see them.I know i do when im pumping iron.Besides the models look proper manly(?).
