Mantic’s Deadzone Unlocks More & More Cool Stuff!
May 13, 2013 by brennon
Mantic's Open Day has just been and gone and obviously a big focus of it was the ongoing Kickstarter Campaign for Deadzone. Check out some of the cool models on the way as well as their latest target for terrain...
First up is a look at some of the painted Rebs. The Rebs are fast becoming the fan favourite for Deadzone because of their eclectic mix of alien and human races within one warband. I certainly do like the rough and ready look.
Above you can also see the concept art and renders for a few more of the upcoming specialists for Deadzone. Two of them are additions to the aforementioned Rebs and the bottom one is an Enforcer wielding a fearsome Incinerator. That's one way to get rid of the plague.
Last but not least is their current target, a selection of laser cannons and heavy defences that can be added to the already impressive range of terrain for Deadzone. Mantic are also working with Antenocitis to bring you an intensely awesome looking battlefield.
What do you think of Deadzone so far?

That Sorok model design is by far the most unique alien they have shown to date. All the others look like they come from other games or sources but that fellow is a new look unseen in other models from other companies.
Alas not – check out Sebulba from Star Wars Episode 1.
Dont get me wrong, it looks cool, but its not as unique as some believe it to be.
while i’ve really liked the scenery before due to how few games i get at home i was sadly not looking at it too seriously… but i would really like that laser cannon and those defences! bring on more stretch goals!
Loved the models I saw at the open day and I agree with @Manpug that the Sorok looks unique and in a very nice way and was painted to a good standard too. Can’t wait to get my parcel in the post.
My only regret is that Armoured penguins could make it into Dreadball. Guess I may have to try my hand at scultping or get a 3D printer. 🙁

Hello there, ambassador G’kar in the 1st pic!
The rebels look nice, not a huge fan of handheld flamethrowers in general so the enforcer is, while technically great, a bit meh.
Babylon 5 reference… Haven’t seen that in a while !
Not enough B5 references in modern SF gaming. Well, other than the perennial B5 Wars…
I love all the aliens ! 🙂
Now why cant GW have aliens that look like this as a main army
who cares if GW doesnt have cool aliens? They cant write proper rules for their minis anyway
