I’m afraid this doesn’t do it for me. What with the recent mutterings about Confrontation miniatures from Col mini I was looking at the old Rackham catalogue and their Wolfen/Devourers are pretty cool. There are loads of wolfman/werewolf models already available for all manner of ranges and scales, and this has some way to go to compete with the best of them IMO.
To be honest, the mini doesn’t look bad, but the paint job is terrible… For a studio paint job, that is.

Yes, the painting isn’t great. The model’s OK, but no more than that, and when you’re doing a model of a subject that’s been seen so many times you really need to pull out the stops. Remember the Incursion werewolf leaping over the barrel? That’s what I mean. Take an existing archetype and do something interesting with it. If you’re going to use a stock pose you need to be unbelievably brilliant (eg, Rackham’s Varghr). You can see that the sculpting is perfectly acceptable here; it’s the uninspiring pose and end result that leave me cold. * More gaming musings… Read more »
I could see it as being something interesting to put in a game of Mordheim perhaps – a werewolf hunting mission maybe?
I had a research and read up on ‘PULP CITY’ and i kinda fancy it. Some of the minis are terrific and very inventive. Plus the gameplay looks kinda fun too. I got some decision making to do when i finish my current and last GW army. Pulp City or Infinity? Hmmm. Maybe even both!
Let me help you with that willy2fly: you need both. See, it’s easy. Just let go (of your wallet) and you feel much better…
“This guy might also suit some character in a Space Wolf army. If superheroes aren’t your thing.” cracked me up ^^… not like Space Wolves arent a bit hero alike ? eh ? ^^
This model isn’t too bad. Certainly not one of my favourites bit still a pretty solid miniatures.
Though being a very similar model in terms of pose and style to the “Avatar of the Jaguar” model it doesn’t quite reach the same level as that miniature for me.
I would say the Jaguar model has a bit more character and motion to its design which is just enough to tip a good model over into a great model.
Gah forgot my picture link for the Jaguar model.
