Learn Of The Greater Good With Black Library’s Shadowsun
March 18, 2013 by brennon
The Black Library are going to be exploring the world of the Tau with a new novella on the way, Shadowsun: The Last of Kiru's Line by Branden Campbell...
"Commander Shadowsun, child of the famed Kiru and protégé of the legendary Commander Puretide, is destined to lead the next phase of the Tau Empire’s expansion… if she can survive the trials before her. Crash-landed on an enemy-held planet, with foes all around and a seemingly impossible mission to complete Shadowsun is determined to achieve victory, even at the cost of her life. But when she receives a message that tears her world apart, Shadowsun must make a choice unthinkable to most tau: to abandon her duty for the sake of family, or continue to fight for the Greater Good."
Sounds like it could be quite a good yarn and there hasn't been much in the way of fiction for the Tau from Black Library. Of course this all comes at the forefront of a release that you all probably know about by now.
Do you reckon you'll be getting this as a good companion to a new army?

Alot of the time I find that books that are released just to promote the new army coming out are not necessarily that good. I remember reading Fire Warrior a few years agonand it was quite rubbish but still entertaining, just like the computer game.
In saying that I probably might still buy the book because I can’t help myself
I think that this book could be interesting as it dwells deeper into said characters past far more than her entry in previous codex and possibly (and hopefully) gives some insight what she is like beyond whole being champion of the greater good.
I hate novellas. Just a lazy way to make money, half a story presented in hardback for double the price of a “normal” book. Saying that, I have all of the limited Heresy ones, but I’m a sucker for Heresy books.
