Khurasan Release A Bad Ass 28mm Sabre Tank
January 18, 2014 by brennon
I do like fantasy a lot, but sometimes I see some near-future/Sci-Fi miniatures and I get a bit excited. That's exactly what happened when I saw this Federal Sabre Tank from Khurasan Miniatures.
Now someone is going to come along and spoil by fun by saying it would fall over, or blow itself up, or something like that, but I don't care. That tank is one of the coolest vehicles I have ever seen on the tabletop.
I love the sleek lines around the sides of the vehicle, the railgun-style weapon on the turret and it reminds me of all those cool micro-machines tanks I used to have as a kid.
I want to use this some way, I just don't know how. Sod it, I'm going to buy some near-future troopers and use the Bolt Action rules for it.
I love this tank!

I like the thinking mate 🙂 and that is a coooool tank.
I’m not sure but I think I read a post somewhere that mentioned that this was based on a piece concept art from the old Aliens: Colonial Marines Technical Manual (re-released to tie into Prometheus but a fun “in universe” look at some iconic design work) so it more or less fits in with the aesthetic of the classic Colonial Marine APC (also in Khurasan’s range…)
Future Merkava.
Stuff like this makes me want to break out and dust off my old Traveler and Striker rules and put together a campaign. But I’m probably the only person that still has them lol.
With some luck a UK supplier will get stock these badboys.
Check out Pig Iron for some nifty stuff as well.
Oh I want this and the APC from them as well… maybe later in the year if they stay in stock this time!
Very cool. I have always liked the Khurasan minis and this is a stellar AV.
Now that is what a futuristic tank should look like.
Nice 🙂
Tanks for the article! I’ll get my coat 😉
