lmao at the end. i put a commissar with all my command squads just in case one of the officers decides to be a coward and flee from the enemy.
If the codex doesn’t say which one takes priority, then I say it’s up to you as to what order you wish to use them.
Like I already said in a topic in the IG board. Whenever the unit fails a morale test, the commissar executes a model, even before you get a choice and even if you are not allowed to re-roll. If you would ever choose to use the standard to re-roll, then you risk losing another model if you fail the re-roll, since you won’t be using the commissar’s re-roll which states that you don’t lose another model after failing the re-roll.
all i have to say is even space marines flee they just dont go running off the board like wee little sissy girls. but the commissar is pretty handy to have with say a combined squad with a bunch of heavy weapons ya’know
coolest avatar pic ever……….fact
ha ha! those are Wargamesfactory Greatcoat Troopers! i love mine <3
I’m not normally a 40k player but i’ve read these rules. I say let them reroll failed morale save from the Standard then if they fail shoot them. After all the Standard is supposed to inspire the soldiers, perhaps they will eventually take more heart if they look at it.
You’re only allowed to re-roll once, therefore you can decide which re-roll you want to use. If you use the standard, your model will survive. If you use the commissar, you’ll lose a model. Difference: You won’t always be close to a standard and if I’m correct, you can only have one in the army. People saying otherwise is just looking for a way to get free kills against Imperial Guards. 😉
Yea, I also thought youd be able to take your re-roll from the standard, then the commissar shot and re-roll, but If you can only take one, Id say the standard should save you from having to shoot a chap. Cant wait to get into guard shortly once I finish my marines! The end was also great! Ive been looking out for some of those recently. It would be class to have something funny at the end of them all, but its probably better to keep looking for it then to be surprised once in a while! To take a… Read more »
Yes! I’m happy my question actually got answered 😛
So Darrell’s take is commissar has priority over standard, since my question was which gives priority.
I was hoping since the standard gives you a reroll, you didn’t actually fail then, so no capping of your rank and file, but oh well.
Seems like even in here there’s still debate on which takes precedence…
