HiTech Get to the Choppa!

I was looking over HiTech's range of sci-fi minis and thought you guys might like to take look at this. The Land Copter Eclipse!
This piece at first seems somewhat simplistic, with the detail stuck on almost as an after thought. However I think this is overall an interesting miniature which could make an ideal proxy for a Space Marine Land Speeder. A little conversion work and it might even make a nice themed piece for an Imperial Guard army.
That’s a very bold move of them as I don’t know what it could pass as in a 40K army. A valkyrie buy the shape?… but a bit small for that.
I strongly suspect this is meant to be a landspeeder.
I like it…see what you mean about the planeness but I think it works regardless…wouldn’t look too out of place in guard, room to stick on aquilas or the like on the sides, mechanicum symbos etc.
Could really well be a count-as something for a number of games. Maybe a bit bulky for Infinity, but Warpath Corporation forces would get a nice addition with this model. Don’t know if they have a gunship type unit in the game.
All in all, I like it it.
“Get in da choppa!”
I’m not a big fan of HiTech in general but I quite like the design of this. It will indeed find a use in quite a few game systems and would actually make a nice diorama piece too. It is a little bit plain here and there but that just opens up the customising potential, adding iconography and technical details. I’m impressed at the price too. All in all a nice release for their range.
AH-64 Apache with dustbins anyone? lol
Prefer it to the landspeeder which is not my fave machine in the 40K universe.
Seems like all the other races get to play with the cool fast attack gear.
It’s fast attack so you would want a clean machine imho
Lo-viz Imperium decals. Which does go against the typical “Here I am, a nice bright juicy target!” ethos just a tad. lol
The front is very ‘boxy’ and the propulsion is just a couple of detailed cylinders…given the front jutting forward in the same manner as a Land Speeder I’d say it was meant for that role in an AdMech army using the SM codex. The trouble is it’s a fair bit pricier and seems too basic to justify that. Interesting to see HiTech branch out into vehicles though.
It can find a home in Weird WW2.
