Are the heads seperate or cast in place?
According to the shop they’re separate.
So what’s left for third parties to make? arms, legs, and backpacks? It wont be long before you can assemble third party marines from parts bought from a dozen small outfits. Each marine will be like a little voltron of resin!
They don’t look especially detailed, but I do like the blank non-eagle chest designs though.
@dais Is that a bad thing? If the minis look rubbish no one (except Darrell) will buy them. I was speaking to some serious 40K tournament players recently and their response was simple… If you need to spam a model in your 40K army and it’s expensive… buy one and learn how to cast in resin. I personally know a guy who makes amazing looking Dark Eldar stuff. He converts his models and then casts the conversion. With the GW withdrawal from the tournament scene, there’s no one left who enforces (or cares to enforce) the GW model only rules.… Read more »
Soon GW will be selling only crappy wargaming reference books…
You can get much cheaper miniatures of very decent quality from other manufacturers and tournament scene invents their own rules sometimes distant from official rulebooks. People download rulebooks for free anyway. In many countries it is even legal.
I think mixing it up is good. It depends on what your tournament is all about though. If you are giving a prize for most money spent with the host company then that’s different from judging who is the best at playing the game or painting an army.
Arms Legs and backpacks have been done,

I’m not sure how well they’d look together as one model, but its doable.
these are awsome, though about the knight legs, i aquired some early this month, and i had to sand them down quite a bit, because they were true-scale… i dont mind true scale, but ill never play my marine at that size. Other Than that, when i get these thell be converted into Chaos marines
now that would be a nice looking, unique chapter if you made one using these.
I like the spartan ones on the end, but I think to make it work you really need the crested helmet and the shoulder pads too.
I’m looking at that for tac and assault squads for a blood angels style army, they would fit better with the HQ models and the sanguinary guard than the current lot do to be honest, and with the only way to get a whole army of themed models being building everything from the death company box at £20 per 5 models, it would probably work out cheaper overall.
Hey Guys,
Thanks to BoW for posting up the link, and for all your feedback and kind words.
Kane, all the parts are separate for maximum modularity and choice, the spartan for example is made up of- torso, head, crest, loin cloth, two shoulder pads.
These parts are the first “half” of complete miniature kits to be released in coming months, the legs, arms, weapons, bases etc are coming up as fast I can sculpt and cast them.
many thanks,
Joel, Anvil Industry
Is that the black knight from Monty Python I see at the left?
‘Tis but a scratch.
No, it’s his half brother – the grey knight 😉
I just purchased 20 of the cloaks for my scratch built Blood Angel Sternguard vets. Cant wait until they arrive!
