May be sounding stupid but Is it only blood angels that can do this?
No, all vanguard veterans.
What’s worse is those marines are blood angels, so they get decent of angels and heroic intervention, so since you get about 3″ of fudge for the deployment, and you only scatter d6″ you’ll end up exactly were you want about two thirds of the time anyway before you take cutting down the angles into account.
nope they dont have the decent of angels special rule
which btw makes absolutely no sense as they are the elite of the elite oft the elite …but thats how it is ^^
Its not how it is- the jump pack wargear entry on page 62(English version) in the codex states that “in addition a blood angels model with a jump pack has the decent of angels rule” meaning the decent rule comes with the jump pack.
Actually they do, agreed not in their rules list, but under the equipment section in the BA codex under Jump Packs it says all units equipped with a jump pack gain the Decent of Angels special rule.
ok sorry ! I was wrong ! ^^
Any blood angel that uses a jump pack gets desent of angels. It covers the rule in the equiptment page of the blood angels codex.
Oops I commented before i read all the posts you allready said you were wrong….sorry
Another great video by Darrell 🙂 This also works for ork stormboyz with boss Zagstruck as he and his unit can assault when he deep strikes. I frequently lose my stormboyz because of scatter but thinking about the angles is a great tip!!
yea heroic intervention sounds great, the only shame is that its not included in the dark angels current codex (4th ed) leaving us out of a useful tactic
They have vanguard vets though don’t they?
Although nids from a mycetic spore can’t assault when they deepstrike they can’t be destroyed if they land on top of friend/foe/terrain, so there are some nice benefits instead of the heroic intervention rule
Are there any other armies that space marines? Not as far as I can tell. I challenge Darrell to do a 40k vid that not only does not have any space marines in it, but he is not allowed to say the words space, marine, wolf, wolves, chapter, or any other word associated with those genetic mutants.
Need to do a Tyranid revisit me thinks. How Catalyst works, how indescribable horror works, How to make the most out of Micetic spores. When not to charge. How to hold objectives with lurking/feeding troops. There are tons of Tyranid questions that could be turned into videos.
I’m thinking of doing this as I just got a new camera and I could create a new youtube channel for tyranid tactics/ understanding rules etc. I’ll only start this if I get enough people interested or if, instead, they’d rather have a video from Darrell on nids every now and then.
Its only the Space Marines that need tips. they loose so very much.
I should back this up with that I counted the last 10 vids and only 1 had no marines in the vid. The one on poisoned attacks. Some of the vids were general enough that they could be used for every army but they were still from a marine POV. Others were specifically marine tactics. If Darrell can’t talk about Eldar, Tau or ‘Nid tactics then maybe have someone who can.
You sound angry. Is that what you want?
Tau have tactics now? When did that happen?
Didn’t you here they went to the GW court of appeal? It was all over the news. The Tau have been granted the sneaky tactic of waiting for their new Codex in late 2012 before they become truly effective again, this way catching all their opponent’s unawares with the pulse-fueled extent of their codex creep. The Ethereal’s argued that the world may end before then but it was overruled – only time will tell 😉
Its called run and die, dont give the enemy the satisfaction of killing you 🙂
This would be great if chaos daemons had the same rule. They don’t, though. So here’s what happens. Deep strike, scatter 7″ lose unit. Deep strike, don’t scatter, run behind cover before getting shot to bits or deep strike, miraculously scatter 7″ with no cover around and get charged. Daemonic assault? More like daemonic timidity. You end up playing aggressively and losing all your units, tactically and you may as well not bother deep striking at all as you actively want to avoid it, or luck kicks you in the gonads then boots you while you’re down and you lose… Read more »
I painted up all my spacehulk terminators and gave them chain fists. They were so beautiful. Oh the pretty ones. they landed via deep strike in a herd of 30 ork boys and 850 points were gone as well as the game. I was tabled by a 10 year old boy who was himself tabled in the next 3 games. Blessed are the humble for they shall see god. I very nearly died of embarassment. I hope god would have let me in after that.
