Heer46 Need Help Funding An Awesome New Tank
January 27, 2014 by brennon
Heer46 have taken to IndieGoGo in an effort to raise money for the production of their Panzerkampfwagen Löwe in 28mm/1:48 scale. See what you think of some of their previous work and the tank that's in the works.
Above is the tank in question, completed, and in it's component parts. It's quite an awesome looking tank and being a collector of the Germans in Bolt Action it does appeal to me very much.
They are also taking efforts to create a variant with what looks like a Sci-Fi turret and cannon for the tank. All you have to do in that case is to make sure you don't glue the turret on and you immediately have a historical AND futuristic model.
You can even get your hands on the tank commander above too! I think he is in a bit of a pickle though if there are volcanoes erupting in the background!
Here we have some of the previous work that Heer46 have done to show you what they look like when all is finished and done. I think they have a good pedigree and if you like your tanks this could be the one to back.
What do you think?
Is this a historical vehicle? I don’t recognize it. The lineup at the bottom doesn’t look all that accurate to me either, if they’re meant to be historical. The Panther looks a little chunky.
A quick nosey around tells me it was designed in WW2 but never manufactured. I guess part of the fun of WW2 wargaming is “what if” shenanigans like this.
The Lowe was just a prototype which arrived too late to see combat, if I’m not mistaken. That’s not a panther at the bottom either, it looks to be another prototype tank, probably of the 30 tonne vk series. If you play world of tanks you’ll see these vehicles a lot 😉
The sci-fi variant is pure fluff. The rest are tanks that were either on the drawing boards, in prototype form, or under test when the war ended. The chunky panther was the amalgamation of the Tiger II hull with the Panther F Schmallturn turret.

All tanks are chunky!
The last photo shows a Lowe, an E-75, and an E-50. These are “paper panzer” designs that never were completed. I have already backed this project because I’ll be able to use these models in at least two or three gaming systems (Dust, SoTR, NUTS!, etc…). These models will look great along side my Gaso E-10, and E-100 tank models. I really hope this project succeeds.
