Hawk Wargames Preview Some More Dropzone Flyers
May 9, 2012 by brennon
It's not just the world of Warhammer 40,000 that is getting Flyers. Hawk Wargames has shown off two more marvellous machines from Dropzone Commander...
All looking very good once again. It's hard to fault these miniatures creeping out of the Hawk Wargames intelligence bunker since they all look very clean and polished with fantastic paint jobs on them. I can see people having a lot of fun with these models, especially those of you who enjoy free hand. The Athena has plenty of open areas for showing off intricate designs.
Which of these two do you prefer?

Gorgeous fresh and original designs from Hawk each with great detail and a unique silhouette. I can’t choose between them – the Athena has that opaque cockpit (showing that the pilot relies on sensors) and smooth sleek finish (plus freaking triple-barrelled guns!) while the Warspear has that wonderful Shaltari anti-grav plating texture and ornate radial rear design (reactionless drive?) which I love.
Nothing but win from Hawk – where’s the pricing and order info? 🙂
Launches 16/07/12 – Pre-orders from the 01/06/12
I meant the cost in shiny moneys…no word on that?
I’m really, really, REALLY loving the look of the Post Human Republic stuff and the Athena has a lovely profile. I’ve avoided the 10/15mm scale games so far but I think Dropzone Commander is going to be the one to lure me in.
These are totally useful as aspaceship-scale vessels as well.
That looks super cool. This is the type of game that could pull in friends that are novice to table top games.
I am liking Athena far more than I do like Warspear. Athena has some nice sleekness.
The more I see of this game, the more I want to play.
My eyes aren’t going to last if I get as many Hawk figs as I think I will be.
My my… I’m getting more and more excited about this !

So am I! The factions all look so awesome I don’t know which one to choose 😛 Might have to see what the fluff is for each faction first. But just the same, I’d still like to collect them all anyway (the smaller ships n’ vehicles fit inside their transports; that’s freaking awesome!) 🙂
Scourge flyers are here too, behold the Minder swarm:

if they keep putting out such absolutely amazing miniatures i may have to start this game when it comes out 🙂
As days go by, back to ground vehicles! IFVs/APCs of the UCM and PHR respectivly:
i just want to know if it will be in the states,or will i have to order across the pond?
Across the pond, it’s a UK company; English mate 😉
