Harryhousen Gets the Crooked Dice Treatment
September 12, 2012 by dracs
Crooked Dice have let slip that they are currently working on a new spin-off supplement for their 7TV game bringing the world of stop motion mythology, such as that created by special effects genius Ray Harryhausen, to the tabletop!
Now you can bring those unforgettable creatures from such classic films as Jason and the Argonauts, or The Clash of the Titans (the original, not the remake. Why, Liam Neeson?)
Crooked Dice have already published a quick preview of some of the minis which will be appearing for this new supplement.
Here we have two Argonauts and Talos, alongside a standard 28mm miniature for comparison. As you can see, these miniatures are going to be comparatively bigger than the rest of the 7TV range.
It's also interesting to note that in these miniatures static poses would, for once, not be a problem. They'e stop motion monsters, they're supposed to be a bit jerky.
I, for one, am really excited over this new supplement. I will be interested to see how the rules take into account the stop motion nature of the creatures and beings which are waging war across the tabletop. The idea of a game based around all those monsters and films which scared me as a kid, but I now love, is just too cool.
Any of you Harryhousen fans? How do you think the stop motion mechanics will convert to the tabletop?

I always liked the movies Ray Harryhousen did. The monsters where the best of its time.
