Can’t see how a machine with a exposed ‘driver’ gets 4 wounds. A chaos biker with Mark of Nurgle is also toughness 6 but not if hit by weapon double his toughness, what’s the difference here?
I don’t think it looks like a transformer, I think it looks like something from the Micky bay parody of transformers. The Jump pack thing, well its pretty obvious that it shouldn’t lose him his monstrous creature status, but the way its written it does, this is for one reason and one reason only: Matt Ward needs a damn good slap. The original version of the rules that was leaked a month or so back had everyone that saw it up in arms over this thing, and to be honest I’m actually okay with its rules now, I can get… Read more »
Well, I don’t play 40k, but the Dreadknight strongly reminds me of those combat-walkers from “Matrix Revolutions” (when Zion is attacked by the machines). That’s exactly why my I think this model is pretty cool and tempts me to start something like an Adepticon combat-patrol force, just to have an excuse for the model and putting it into the ‘right’ setting.
As for the rules: atm, I really don’t care 😉
Does it have a piece of model to represent the jump pack ?
It’s not looking as bad as i thought, tbh… Anyway i think it’s sad it doesn’t have a big banner or scrolls or something that could make it look more… “precious”.
I’m too much the conversion “artist” … I don’t see this model for it’s crappy static pose, I see it for it’s potential with a craft knife and some greenstuff hehe
Looking at the model there, I can see that it would be a bit tricky to do some conversion poses to it. There are alot of tubes and pistons around its legs that would have to be adjusted. Also the terminator guy would also have to be adjusted in the legs aswell to make it look authentic. Its a pity that the legs just dont move themselves.
Not a huge fan of it, especially because from what I’ve seen the poses are all very static. On the board it seems pretty good though. I think the driver is the problem they needed to come up with something different for that, maybe some kind of cockpit would have been fine? Then it would seem the driver is less exposed (they say it has a force field but its nice to have a degree of representation rather than just ‘assuming’ its there).
Looks more like 1 of those walkers in avatar. but any way I’m afraid to play against these gray knights now… since I’m an ork man…. they would just mascara my WAAAGH i think

it has a force field around the pilot to keep him safe id say thats where it gets 4 woulds.
BoW Justin
appreciate that but losing one wound to double toughness is bingo, the end! so why 3 to go? are you not shooting at a “space marine”?
they’re more like structure points on super heavy vehicles?
Doesn’t the Eldar War Walker also utilise the forcefield thingy to protect the rider?? Does that work the same way?
it would still be easier to put him “in” the dread knight.
but than it would be probably a vehicle like dreadnaught and it would be far easier to kill 😀
exposing the guy outside is aparrently making him tougher 😀
then he would become a dreadnought, someone close to death, not a living space marine!
I like it when I first saw it but the more I see it, the more I think it looks a little tacky.
That teleporter rule needs FAQ-ing as well.
Good video as usual though Darrell *thumbs up*
Ill give thumbs up to that

yeah it seems likely to me that after the FAQ it’ll keep monstrous creature and just have a jump pack unfortunately,

I totally agree but I could not remember they’re name.
You would be referring to the APU (Armoured Personnel Unit)

I’d convert it to a counts as Dreadnought for my space wolf army.

Thank you, heretichammero1, getting back to the point.
I like the look of this model. And it kinda remind me Ripley in Alien! lol!
With the new DE models, and those DE coming in the summer, I was expecting more from the GK range …
Pretty sure his PT works like a Demon Prince with wings, he becomes both a jump troop and a monsters creatures.
Also *insert Aliens joke here*

I have mixed emotions about this model. Althought I like options that he has I don’t like how he looks.
