GameScape – The Ruined Office Block!
August 2, 2011 by lloyd
Lloyd has (literally) been working tirelessly to bring you the first GameScape Terrain download... The Ruined Office Block!
HOW TO GET IT
This download is exclusive to Backstage Pass holders so if you haven’t already signed up, now is a great time to do so. It’s only £3.79 a month which means you can get this great bit of terrain and our extra content for less than you would normally pay for a download like this on its own. Plus you could also download the Dave Graffam Models: Townhouse terrain as well!
If you want a Backstage Pass click here to get started, note you will need a free account first before you can add the pass.
THE PDF DOWNLOAD
This PDF is available in both US Letter and International A4 format so be sure to choose the one that best suits you.
Each area of the Ruined Office Block has been laid out in its own section with a 3D guide for each.
Unlike most printout building this also has a free terrain tile to transform your table into a decaying cityscape, just right for those far-future battles or near future apocalypse!
Once printed, you will have enough parts to make all 3 multi-storey ruined sections and it’s just a matter of printing more to make more.
WHAT YOU NEED
If you want to have a bash at making this, here's what you will need:
- Foam Core Board
- A sharp hobby knife
- A cutting mat (don't use your best dining room table!)
- A metal ruler or straight edge*
- PVA glue (or spraymount)
- Some pre-mixed filler, spackle or fine sand (to add to PVA)
- Paperclips or wire (optional)
* A metal ruler is optional. The model is very forgiving (it's a ruin after all), but the easiest way to get some of the more precise cuts you'll need is to use a straight edge.
SAFETY ANNOUNCEMENT
- Always cut away from yourself
- Never use a blunt blade (they are more likely to slip when cutting)
- If you are unsure or inexperienced when it comes to using hobby knives, ask a friend or responsible adult to help you
- Darrell does not count as a responsible adult
Stay safe and happy gaming!
Nice one, downloading now 🙂
Awesome!
Nice one guys looks amazing, will make this my project asap.
Looks good Lloyd, very nice job. Thanks for all your hard work on this 🙂
Oh, and for any tournament organisers; you’ve got no excuse for shoddy looking terrain on your tables any more!
Just looked through the pdf and noticed something especially awsome. The base comes in multiple parts, which could easily be reprinted may times and be used make paving for your city, in any size and you could proably make any shape with a bit of cutting. CoD board here I come! thanks BoW!
Great stuff guys, I shall have to give it a go. Thanks! 🙂
beautiful textures, good job.
I just noticed a sneaky little beasts of war poster whith what looks like latin on F4
Well spotted Hawkeye!
Very nice, I’ve always liked building terrain, but I don’t like painting it, so this is perfect! 🙂
Thank you!
Darrel never counts as a responsible adult; have you seen his lists?
Thanks guys I have really been looking forward to this!
brilliant, just started a new games club and this will make some quick terrain to get us started
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Lloyd is our resident genius.

Guys, this is AWESOME! I’m getting to work RIGHT NOW! Can you FEEL the ExCiTeMenT???
Thanks for the nice comments everyone 🙂
Not made anything up yet, but I have printed out a couple of pages onto some Matt Photo Paper I had here, and they look fantastic.
Top job there guys!
Im so happy about this I printed it out and will get a tattoo on my back of this. So every time I flex my back it will fold into the ruined building….
Stop looking at me like Im strange, you know you where going to do the same.
thanks @manpug
OK need a little help, Im in Canada. So do I use the US letter or Int. a4? I don’t even know what they are, the size of paper?
Yes that the size of paper you print on. I don’t live in the US but my understanding is they print on page size called US Letter (8.5″ x 11″).
Where as here in Europe we print on a page size called A4 (210mm x 297mm).
I think in Canada you also use US Letter (8.5″ x 11″).
Hope that helps.
A4 is 210mm x 297mm and US Letter size is 8 1/2″ x 10″.
Measure the paper you have and choose one of the above or if it’s different to A4/US Letter, then enter a custom value for the size of the paper you’ve got. 🙂
Do’h, I’ve been beaten in replying lol Though, as I said, if your paper size doesn’t match up then just enter the values for the paper size you have.
I’m glad the buildings have stairs; I’ve never understood why GW doesn’t put stairs on it’s 40K ruined buildings. Stair cases are usually the last standing structures of a building after it’s destroyed; the strongest shape being a triangle keeping it from destruction. So why doesn’t GW add them on their 40K stuff? With these ones, if you wanted to end a turn of movement on some stairs, you can, instead of leaving them on the ground or at the top of GW imaginary stairs, ready to be shot in the other players turn 😛 See, that’s the tactical advantage… Read more »
Looks real nice, hitting the download button now.
top bananna thnx guys
If you want to save yourself some time, go to your favorite office supply place and get full page labels that you can print onto. Then print your wall sections out on the big label sheet, and just stick it on your board and cut it out. No need for glue or waiting for it to dry or anything.
amazing”
Have done a good bit of paper/card terrain and this is among the best I’ve seen. Simply fabulous textures. looking forward to seeing more in the range!
Anyone got any suggestions of the best place to get and/or a decent brand foam core board in the UK, I’m guessing one of the big DIY stores will do it, but don’t really want to make a trip out to one and spend hours wandering around to find out they don’t have the stuff I need.
