Games Workshop & Zattikka Team Up For Digital Titans
March 15, 2013 by brennon
Earlier in the week Games Workshop and a company called Zattikka teamed up to bring a new video game based on the mighty Titans to PC, Mac and Tablets...
Mark Opzoomer, CEO of Zattikka commented...
"We are delighted to be working with Games Workshop on such a prestigious and important gaming franchise. Warhammer 40,000 is one of the most globally recognisable science fantasy genres, appealing to a broad cross section of gamers.”
This sounds like it could be a lot of fun. The game is meant to be a 3D isometric free-to-play game featuring single, multi-player and social gaming aspects.
It looks like Games Workshop are certainly spreading their wings in the digital realm and with Space Hulk, Warhammer Quest and now this Titan game coming out we have a lot to look forwards too.
What do you think of the news?

Looks like a computergame I would buy because it had titans in it. However there was once a game called Epic which featured all the titans on a table top with a deacent set of rules (My favourate one been Armageddon). It’s been atleast 12++ years since that stuff was on the shelves of GW so most of the younger gamers would not be familiar with it. My point I guess is that the computer game may not be as successful if the board game is not been played. Maybe GW are planning on re-releasing Epic in preperation for the… Read more »
Well, it’ll be free to play
I’ve got to be honest; I’m more worried about seeing the game be Free To Play, more than anything else.
I’d still give the game a punt if it cost a few pounds, but there is a fair chunk of FtP games out that are ruined by the FtP model. Recently there have been some quite high profile games, such as the recent Sonic game, and that EA racing game.
Bad enough you have to worry about the game on its own turning out decent, worse still you have to worry about if the pricing structure is going to make things worse.
I’m more worried on the fact that zattika makes mostly web/social network casual games… We are faaaaaaaaaaaaaaar away from relic, for example… It’s probably gonna be a tablet game and it’s not the way i like to play video games. Free or not, i don’t care at this point.
Well the game will be rubbish as most free to play are. But also I’m concerned that this is how GW will treat its Specialist Games range from now on. Instead of rejuvenating them with new boxed games and miniatures we’ll get half baked digital crap like this. GW don’t have to spend any cash, they get 3rd parties to make it whilst paying them license. I’m an avid pc gamer but I couldn’t give a flying fig about digital versions of Space Hulk, Warhammer Quest and this, what will probably be called Adeptus Titanicus. I want the actual game… Read more »
A lot to look forward too? I find this and other 40K online stuff just never cut it. We shall see, this might be good as a tool for bringing new gamers into GW.
This could be interesting, but it will be compared to Epic: Final Liberation which was awesome.
Free to play is not automatically bad, most of the computer games I play are free to play and they are just as good as the full priced ones.
The company making the game does not give me confidence, but if they follow the tabletop game, it should be quite easy to make a decent game.
To make it even easier they could make it hex based
Initially sounds like Mech Commander or Front Mission. Only with bigger machines…
