Games Day 2012 Horus Heresy Pre-Releases from Forge World
September 18, 2012 by brennon
As some of you may know, Games Workshop's massive Games Day UK 2012 will be hitting the NEC this weekend. One of the biggest draws has always been the Forge World booth where this year they will be showing off the mighty forces amassing during the Horus Heresy...
As well as the book being on show at the event there are going to be a few morsels that might just bring in the crowds. You might have to elbow your way through the masses to check out these...
These Scimitar Jetbikes are available as a Squadron or by themselves and are looking fairly brutish and deadly on the field of battle. It also provides a look back at the times of the Heresy and how technology has changed between then and the current period of war.
These shoulder pads will also be on offer, with designs on them to re-create the Legions of the time. I bet you can spot a few of your favourites in there. But if you prefer decals and transfers then you could just grab yourself some of these sheets instead...
Forge World are certainly providing a great amount of accessories to complete your Heresy Legions and take a chapter back in time to when the entire galaxy was rocked by Space Marines fighting Space Marines.
I will be there for Beasts of War, tweeting away and taking pictures furiously and then suffering insane amounts of shiny syndrome as I look at all the gorgeous models.
Check out the prices for these releases HERE.
Will you be raiding the Forge World booth when you get to Games Day this weekend?

Those Scimitar Jetbikes are actually rather good looking. Those shoulder pads are also rather nice.
I’d kinda like to see some pre-heresy bikes. I want to do a bike list, but some of the marine bikes I already have are pretty close to voting age, and the model is essentially the same still, would be nice to have a couple different ones.
Oh my wallet will be getting a bit thin after Gamesday. It would be great to see a Legion of jet bikes blazzing across the table.
Yup, those jetbikes are awesome. Kind of a hotrod/chopper look as opposed to the old flying snowplough style. Vitally important not to park one of them in front of two big boulders, though.
Okay I can’t unsee that now.. Just glad they’re not Emperors Children.
Holy Terra’s Balls! The price of the book is astronomically mental! I can imagine all the hard work that went into it, and I know FW stuff is expensive and all that, but fecking hell! £70??! For a book? Made of paper, not gold leaf, right? Shitting shit! It’s too effing expensive! I thought this would be an awesome thing to get because I love all the Heresy stuff, and I’ve been buying the novels now and then, but shit me, I didn’t think it’d be seventy quid! £45, maybe like the 40K rulebook and FW Imperial Armour books, but… Read more »
I thought some of my Academic books were expensive… oh wait they still are. Don’t like the jetbikes at all, I think they are comical in their ugliness but the shoulderpads are nice and I cannot wait to see what they unveil next!
Ya, I don’t think I will be buying one of the plasma penis mobiles. But the Horus Heresy book is an absolute must if reality lets me save enough to buy it.
GamesDay came and went here in AUS and I simply went for some of the older items, a couple of flyers (orc fighter-bomma and hell talon) and the grot mega tank. Whilst the heresy stuff looks good I’ll wait for bits that look good, cause those bikes don’t
Am I the only one who’s not impressed? Those jet bikes look like Scibor or Mad Puppet stuff, which I do not mean complimentary.
only thing i like about the jetbikes is the differant weapon choices these look far better http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gI84iRHQSeQ
Book way too expensive, let’s hope that’s the price of a limited edition run, and the poor persons edition will be released once the idiots have bought the leather bound ones.
The tampon cannon, utter rubbish and would love to know how the SM actually gets in one LOL
The Brass etch does look good and look the price has gone up !
The books perfectly reasonably priced for the superb quality and content it has, the whole point of it being that kind of quality is to make it an event and something of an artefact to treasure rather than just your bog standard rulebook. Also they’ve already gone on record as saying that this will be the only version and there will be no “poor persons edition”. Personally whilst I think it may have been a good idea to release a normal hardback version for say £50, I can completely understand why they won’t due to the above reasons but it… Read more »
They look really nice, but this along with alot of other stuff from Forge World recently is just priced out of what I am prepared to pay. For just 1 of those bikes, as nice as it is, I can buy an entire Infinity Starter pack with half a dozen miniatures. 70GBP is also a bloody joke for the price of the book. As much as I love Pre-Heresy (I’ve already made an army in fact, back when you had to convert/bodge all of your own bits) I’m not going to buy it on principle – it’s nothing more than… Read more »
They look like man-rods.
Victorian-light designed man-rods.
They are very similar to BFG Armed Freighters – bit undecided on the minis …

why didnt they just redo the old rogue trader bullock jetbikes? those new style ones are a bit too flesh gordon tbh
