Gallant Knights and Freaky Whispers from Reaper Miniatures
July 4, 2012 by brennon
It's time again for Reaper Miniatures to unleash a wave of miniatures for your wargaming and role-playing needs. There are some typical, and some not so typical releases this time, check it out...
Warlord...
Chronoscope...
Pathfinder...
I hope you see what I mean when I say freaky whisper! That Attic creature is incredibly weird. Overall it's another good haul of miniatures from Reaper with some interesting additions to the Chronoscope line. I particularly like the super hero model, Shadow Talon.
Will you be adding to your collection with Reaper?
I think Shadow Talon is my fave as well – with that mask and advanced armour and gadgetry likely inspired by the most recent Batman films not to mention the dynamic leaping pose he’d be perfect for Pulp City. Rhinocerix stands out too, not as a supervillain for me due to the clothing (which reminds me of Pike & Shotte Roundhead stuff) but as a fantasy town guardsman who happens to be from a different race than the Tolkienesque norm. If you think the model looks creepy; have a read of the fluff: http://www.d20pfsrd.com/bestiary/monster-listings/undead/attic-whisperer
From those Bladesinger Sister cought my eye most. I just love that sculpt and dynamic pose that its in. Holy Vindicator is also good looking model. How ever special mention must go to Shadow Talon with its great design and dynamic action pose.
Always a fan of Reaper stuff. Just one pet peeve: the pathfinder knight has that same silly pose you will find on dozens of their figures. What’s up with that? It’s not dynamic, and actually looks a bit ‘mincing’.
Probably a restriction on the license from Paizo – I just checked the Advanced Player’s Guide for Pathfinder (the book the Holy Vindicator prestige class is in) and it’s artwork is in the same pose as the model (although it got mirrored in the book for some reason):

If that doesn’t work, just google “pathfinder holy vindicator” – it’ll be near the top of the image results.
Attic whisperer is definitely my favorite.
Rhinocerix with that old british military look makes him my favorite.
