Forge World Introduce some Powerful Minotaurs
March 23, 2012 by brennon
Check out these latest releases from Forge World. The Chapter of the Minotaurs now have some special characters to lead their superhuman brothers into battle...
"The name of the bloody-handed and paranoid master of the Minotaurs Chapter, Asterion Moloc, is a byword for slaughter and destruction in the name of the Imperium across a hundred worlds, yet he is also a diligent and disciplined logistician and a master of siege craft. In battle he can most often be found at the head of his 1st Company Terminators, and when not prosecuting a conflict he occupies a brazen throne at the very heart of his flagship, the labyrinthine heavy assault carrier Daedelos Krata.
The gaunt and brooding Reclusiarch Ivanus Enkomi became the eyes and voice of his master during the Badab War; an aloof and distant observer at Carab Culln’s war-councils. A paradox, whose red-irised eyes and crimson-tattooed features speak of some feral origin, yet in whose voice lies a capacity for fierce and stirring oratory, Chaplain Enkomi is a skilled tactical commander, most notably during the Loyalist attack on Shaprias that uncovered the black depths to which the Tyrant of Badab’s treachery had sunk."
Asterion Moloc and Chaplain Enkomi of the Minotaurs! Some brilliant looking models with real weight and character to them. I particularly like the way the helms are fashioned and the amount of detail on their armour. However, if your not looking for some special characters then how about this...
This is the Rapier Laser Destroyer, wildly used during boarding assaults and in close quarter fighting. Certainly looks the part but it will take you folks testing it out on the battlefield to see if it lives up to its destroyer name.
You can see the rules for it here.
As for the rules for the special characters, they can be found in Imperial Armour Volume 10 - The Badab War Part II.
Will you be fighting alongside these Minotaur special characters?

Now thats a roman look if ever one.
Very nice kits, definitly agree on the roman look. Shame they are too outside my price range otherwise I may of bought them to paint for fun. Nice stuff regardless though.
Really nice sculpts. Like the laser Destroyer it’ll lookgood roaming around Zone mortalis
Why Roman when the Minotaur is of Greek/Cretan origins? 😛
Superb sculpts though personally am not interested in swords and sandals in spaaaaaace! lol
I would say it is Spartan/Greek, the round shield gives it away, as Romain says below, I’ve got some heads shields etc from Scibor that give the same look.
Yeah Greek helms have the same style of cheek guards, also the spear is in a greek style.
Bit of a mish mash of anything Mediterranean tbh
The helm is the typical Corinthian (?) but the crest looks Roman as too the leather skirt
Shape of the spear blade is Greek.
Boots are Doc Martins I think.
When I say ‘Greek’ I mean that whole area. The Greek city-states, the surrounding islands with similar cultures. Moloc’s helm is Corinthian, Enkomi’s is more Cretan.
Greeks wore layered leather skirts as well, and they used Traverse crests to mark leaders.
The Roman connection is valid too, but the Romans stole a lot of their culture and technology from others. Also the people in Italy who started the whole Rome thing, were Greek settlers.
Not trying to start any arguements, in case the internet loses that. Just I disagree, and can see a lot of “Greek” in it.
No worries Hedders,
But I still say they are Doc Martins. lol
Those look very good.
Isn’t that what Scibor has been doing for ages now ?
Glad GW joined us…
They even copied the “one foot on some rubble” pose.
Its more Minoan like (eg the Minotaur thingy) thats like pre Greek.
superb sculpt but I am a little upset with the price. 30 pounds means a lot and there’s plenty of good stuff with that price providing me more minis.
The roman-greek references also is a plus. And like Romain said, that’s what Scibor is being doing for a while.
outstanding have to agree with roman very scibor esque
Why are they selling a Red Scorpion alongside a Minotuar model , seems madness to me
although the Red Scorpions are becoming more and more appealing with Culln , Enkomi and the Loth models……
Iam beginning to like this Minotaurs more and more (did some research on their background aided by proffesor google)
