Forge World Bring Out a Vindicator From the Days Before Heresy
November 11, 2013 by dracs
Amazingly, even the stagnated tech of the Space Marines has changed over the years, although not always for the better as this earlier Vindicator pattern tank from Forge World should hopefully prove.
The Legion Deimos Pattern Vindicator served in the days of the Great Crusade and the Horus Heresy, its heavy-calibre demolisher cannon making it a useful weapon for siege and urban warfare, or even when there was an enemy tank which needed blowing up.
Forge World's variants always add a nice level of individuality to an army which might otherwise look the same as any other force. Even when not using their specific rules, the model helps to make a force stand out and creates a sense of chapter's history.
Do you ever use Forge World vehicles in your armies?

You guys at beasts of war are terrible you keep drip feeding me these lovely models from forge world and I can feel myself slowly being tempted to start a 30k project…………lol.
While I use Deimos pattern Rhinos for my Wolves I have mixed feelings about this Vindicator. While I like the positioning and redesign of the cannon mount the whole front end seems a little ‘toy’ like for me. I’d probably like it a bit more without the front blocky dozer blade.
The gun shield looks remarkably similar (in feel at least, not an exact copy) to Mantic’s Forge Father Hailstorm cannon… you think it could be possible to press some of the Demiurg erm sorry Forge Father stuff as heresy era artillery perhaps?
I only use Forge World models when i have to – they make Games Workshop models seem inexpensive. I love my Caestus Assault Ram, Lucius pod, and contemptor dreads.
