Good vid 🙂
Good Ol’ BoW 🙂
Like it, but the weekend feels empty without the weekender. Get well soon whoever the plaguebearer is.
Nice vid guys, good to see Warren and Lloyd getting hands on and creative.
Thanks for the vid so soon after the terrain forum post was started.
The pink foam is good stuff, I used it for my dystopian terrain. It cuts well with a sharp craft knife too (with caution or parental supervision) and then running a steel ruler along the edge creates an awesome cliff / rocky effect.
Again nice one guys
Nice to see this, I downloaded the HD version and just watched it on my big TV in the living room.. stuff like this makes it worth the money of Backstage.
Cheers mattl, are you thinking of creating a table like this?
I am. I just bought a roll of the green stuff, but with a plastic backing, so hopefully it’ll work.
The GW mats are sadly out of production.
This sort of terrain is witchcraft to my eyes. One day I’ll have the time and space to fail H^H^H^H attempt to produce something this cool. One day …
Good stuff fellas. May Papa Nurgle’s blessings clear up soon!
It’s really just about getting stuck in and giving a project a go.
With the citadel battlemat being no more, do you guys know of an alternative we could use?
I’m not sure of the top of may head but the one used it the video was a nice fabric type which went down well over slopes and didn’t tend to crease. I feel paper based mats are very prone to creasing.
Thank you for this! About how long did this take, minus the extra time for filming? Also how long would you estimate the entire process?
We created this quite a whie ago. If I remember correctly the project lasted about a week but I’m not sure how much time we spent per-day on it.
Really good vid … Want to see the rest now 😀
Nice to see them coming back I recall them from the first time
SWEEEEEEEEET
I always wanted to make a gaming table. If only I had the room for it…
Who doesn’t like or wish to play on a gorgeous table. I think this video is will be very inspiring. The sale of hotwire cutters has probably gone up as well.
.
lol maybe. They’re really cool for this work but it’s best to get a few packs of wires if your picking one up as they wear out and snap.
It can be a real downer to be in the middle of a project and run out of wires to finish it.
Oh and before anyone asks, you can NOT use any old wire in them.
Wire not made for the job is to resistant to electrical current and this will burn out the cutters transformer, believe me I KNOW!
Awww! Look at Warrens baby face!
lol
It’s exactly how I started my 40k table! Sweet! Can’t wait to see the rest of it!
Good video, guys. Thanks a lot. The backstage pass was certainly worth it 🙂 Looking forward to the next part.
Just use a knife to score the polystyrene deeply and then snap it — no mess. Then use the hot wire to do the details.
Inspirational video, looking forward to seeing to complete table.
Watching you two I’m guessing your father was also an engineer. Takes me back to my childhood of being a human clamp whilct dad angle ground something
lol Yeah our father wasn’t afraid to get stuck into projects. I remember him hand carving us wooden tanks when we were little.
It makes much more sense to me now why he did that. They even had real blood stains on them lol
cool 🙂 always been more of a collector than a gamer and to tell you the truth, I’ve always found projects like this a bit too daunting when really it’s something that I’ve always wanted to do but never have because I couldn’t take the plunge… seeing this however, you guys seem to make it look easy so probably time to think again! Who knows, if I can find the time and space its probably worth experimenting a little… ETA on part 2?
So glad this is back 😀 Do you have parts 2 & 3?
game workshop isnt sell the citadel grass mat i can’t find on the canadian games workshop web site
Awesome stuff; look forward to trying my own, similar project soon!
What is the program used to set up the table layout? I still do it the old-fashioned way with pen and paper.
are these vids broken or is it just me that can’t watch them?
