Scibor Release a Lion Amongst Supermen
February 3, 2012 by dracs
Scibor have a new heroic figure in their great range of sci-fi knights and this time he is a real leader of the pride. Behold the Lion Knight!
This guy will make a great dramatic centre piece for your army, especially if they are of a certain angelic, yet dark theme. I am particularly impressed with the filigree on the armour.
However, I do think there is slightly off about his stance. Its not that its static its just from this angle it looks as if his hips are slightly misaligned, though that is really just a minor niggle with a mini of this standard.
Will this guy be leading any of your forces to war? Are there any aspects of the figure you particularly like?

I think that as a model under the heading ‘Lion Knight’ the Kingdom Death one eclipses this in detail and composition, but since it’s not got mass-market appeal and is guaranteed to sell out before anyone can get it…
This Scibor release is better from an army theme standpoint at least. Also I do like the lion’s head on the shoulders.
I always like the models from Scibor. They give them good detail and most have a common them that pulls them together with the other models.
Clearly the inspiration for Scibor’s Lion Knight is the WH40K Dark Angel primarch and Dark Angels in general.
Come now, negative carma for pointing out the obvious? Worse things have gone unpunished. It’s not like netdiver put any value to the fact, which, even if he did, would be entirely within his right.
I know what you mean, but I learned the hard way (negative carma) that stating the obvious in a negative tone or bashing a small outfit is just not the right thing to do. He is well within his rights to say what he wishes to say, but so is it the right of others to thumb up or down his statment. Personally I think its only the colour choices that makes it look Dark Angels and the hood. As for the lion theme, Scibor has a full conversion set that I feel is rather unique. Take a look at… Read more »
A lesson learned here. Written text can sometimes be like balancing on the edge of a knife. My meaning wasn’t to point any ill towards Scibor’s work. While I don’t deny that some of his work has been influenced and inspired by WH40K, I really like his personal take on the universe 🙂
Yes we have all typed something that everyone takes the wrong way. I still regret suggesting the next 40k movie after Ultramarines should be a musical about an Ork, Imperial guard romance like Romeo and Juliet.
Only in the colour scheme and the embossed lions on the armour…the Dark Angels dont use lion symbols on there armour really , which intrigues sort of as other chapters really do use there primarchs as a theme…
I’m still no fan of the guns Scibor use on these, but I like the rest of it, apart from maybe the Captain Morgan pose a lot of ’em use, but that’s really more so they’ll fit the scenic base.
