Flying & Striding in the world of Dropzone Commander
May 28, 2012 by brennon
Some more previews and news from the world of Dropzone Commander today. As well as some morsels for you to drool over we have news on the launch and pre-orders for the game...
Now these are Flyers I will be picking up without thinking. I don't think there are actually any words to describe just how amazing that Triton A1 Strike Dropship looks!
But the Shaltari and Scourge are not to be left out either this time. Some interesting new RTS style tanks for the purple horrors and of course a new delicate machine of destruction for the Shaltari in their Ocelot Warstrider.
Other news however is that the reveal of the website and ultimately the Pre-Order and release of the models has been put back a few days. Don't worry, its not too long.
Problems with the website and dealing with so many interested parties has had to shift things back a little while with the website going live on the 8th of June and the full release happening on the 23rd of June.
Not too much longer to wait folks!

It is with high hopes that I wish this game to have an excellent rules system…..
I’m with you. It be a shame to see such models go to waste.
Agreed. I find it a little worrying that we haven’t seen any rules…
Yet more awesome from Hawk…which is why for anyone annoyed by the delay I have this to say…awesome is worth waiting for. I really like how the light dropships have this fast sleek look while still being squat to get their cargo to the tightest spots on the battlefield. The Stormraven could have benefited from that – bit late now. The UCM dropship stands out for me especially since it has touches of Halo and Aliens in its aesthetic. Loving the tanks and walker too, there’s just so much attention given to these models. Must remember to be patient… 😉
Those Tritons have great design. Those have both bulkiness and some sleekness at same time. Ravens are also looking very good. Althought so far I have not been keen of alien designs I must admit that Ocelot has rather nice design.
I love the way the Ocelot’s head is tilted to one side, making it almost seem like a living creature. These miniatures are amazing. Even if the rules suck, I can always homebrew lists for Epic.
i love these models, can’t wait for them to come out!
is it just me or does that ocelot warstrider look like the covenant scarab from the halo games?
I may have to give one or more of my kids to science so I can afford vast armadas of these beautiful models.I’m gobsmacked every time I see another set of teasers. Are there any beta rules out there for folks to look at?
The cockpit jeweling on that Raven dropship is in-freaking-sane. They should sell decals with the little blue corner gradient so you can just paint it black, apply the decals and glosscoat it. Otherwise, everyone who owns these is going to be disappointed that their models don’t even come close to as cool as the one on the box.
Fingers crossed for the rules! Too many of my friends are already planning on massive pre-orders without having seen how the game plays. I cannot fault them as the models are so great looking.
if you don’t like the rules you can always use the models with other sets of rules
