With the strength of the Wall of Death rule, are Flamers now an integral part of any squad that can take them?

For the record, Chaos Space Marine Chosen can take 5 flamers for quite cheap–115 points for the 5 guys and their 5 flamers–quite a nifty objective holding unit. Also, Obliterators are much more fearsome to assault now–they automatically get TL Flamers in their profiles.
I’m sure other armies have similar tricks up their sleeves–these are just examples from my army that I’m aware of.
Alright mate,
I remember seeing in the rulebook that slow and purposeful models cannot fire on overwatch even if they have flamers. But correct me if I am wrong.
Guard units that can take multiple flamers are, command squads(both flavours, 4 out of 5 and one can be heavy)special weapons squads(3 out of 6), veterans (3 out of ten one can be heavy), even five man storm troopers and rough rider units get to take two, chimeras get two heavy flamers free, a leman russ can take three- slap the punisher turret on and just pick a unit within 8″ to remove.
Where exactly does it say (or suggest) that you can over watch out of an open-topped vehicle? I heard you guys talking about it before, mentioned it to a friend and he reccons you cant do it. I would love to be able to snap fire out of my necron barges…so where can I find the rules to back this up??
An embarked unit may overwatch at models that assault their transport via the Fire Points (open topped or not). It’s just that ALL of the models in an Open Topped vehicle may fire!
Rulebook pg 80 at the top ‘Transports and Assaults’
flamers of tzeentch FTW!
I’ve been including a flamer in every squad since 6th ed hit the shelves.
Grey Knight Paladins, Purifiers and Purgation Squads can have 4 Incinerators !
Not sure where the open-topped thing comes from but Page 80 says quite clearly that ANY vehicle passengers can fire overwatch from the fire points.
Page 82 gives the open topped ruling mate
I must admit that I have never been huge fan of flamers but this made me consider actually using them.
You mentioned Hand Flamers – the Blood Angels Sarg can actually take two hand flamers, and fire both thanks to the gunslinger rule (and not lose any attacks from it as they’re CCWs)
If I am not mistaken Sisters of Battle can take lots of flamers as well
Can you explain how during overwatch flamers get infinite range? I thought template weapons couldn’t fire in overwatch?
Look up “Wall of Death” the idea is that the flamers put out a wall of flame or set fire to stuff that the attackers have to charge through, or think better of charging as the case may be !
