More Firestorm Armada Previews Warping In
October 20, 2011 by brennon
It seems Spartan Games are going into hyperdrive with their previews of Firestorm Armada models. You can check out some of them below...
First up is this Sorylian Broadsword Class Dreadnought. You can see just how impressive this is size wise along side the Sorylian Swordbreaker Battleship.
And here is the Terran Titan Class Dreadnought alongside a Terran Battleship. Once again, an impressive sight.
Last but certainly not least is the Aquan Prime Medusa Class Dreadnought. Complete with gribbly bits and details galore.
If nothing else its great to see that the renders from a while ago have actually translated into amazing looking models. This also points to the rest of the renders we have seen being just as good looking.
Has this tickled your Sci-Fi fancy?

Those are getting soooo much better. To bad I have decided not to pick up this game. I am going to play Call to arms Star Fleet. Models are great though and I love Spartan games.
Spartan does have some heat these days…full thrust is still around, bfg by Gw also has merit and then the newer star fleet (based off what was originally a b5 game i think) and ffg xwing (not wings of war honest star wars) threat as well.
Still Spartan is on my radar for sure, maybe for full thrust however for me
I really like them, especially the Medusa…I just might go back to Aquans now!
Out of curiosity, why did you leave the Aquans? Bear in mind, I have no experience with the game. 🙂
Their main offensive power, large ships aside, is mine-laying runs..they’re essentially bombers in space, I’m more of a direct-fire fan:P
Ah, I see. Yeah, I really like the look of the models, but that doesn’t sound like my kinda playstyle…
What faction does a good broadside?
pound for pound, Sorylians produce most distilled void-fire to sides, and are good at boarding. Terrans have mediocrete everything but have shields…and the battleship has turrets which, combined with broadsides, do give it a serious kick. Dindrenzi have very strong front-firing guns, but unimpressive side armamaments.
Aquans have weaker guns, but all around, so you should be flying directly through enemy formation, dropping mines and firing at all sides, chipping away damage points.
Cool, thanks for the info! What about the Relthoza? Any experience with them?
I’m not one for navel warfere be it on water or space, but this might just change my idea of what I like. I’m going to keep an eye on this game.
I can’t wait for these to come up for sale.
I was hoping for a Dindrenzi model update, but I like the Terran dreadnought a lot.
How do people rate this game? Im interested in picking up a space battles game like this. Not Battle Fleet Gothic tho. Any recommendations? Something scalable tho, not a ‘game in a box’ product.
Really good game that is easy to learn but hard to master – the best kind of game really. Also its incredibly scalable with the types of fleets you can make up, and the ever expanding amount of things Spartan keep making for their games lol
