You guys got to get some Eldar models.
Yeah… we’ve got a few… but pixies keep knicking them out of the studio and playing with them! 😉

Good tips on the Howling Banchees. Would anybody rate Harlequins for doing the same job?
no banshees are cheeper and have armor
You guys need to make some BoW dice. That’ll stop Darrell whiffing on the dice rolls 😛
Its a good way to use banshees.
I would add to this advice of using banshees:
1. always take transport for them. they die even to bolterfire and you need to get them to combat
2. always take executioner for the exarch, it gives you S5 which is realy important for otherwise low S banshees
3. try to run farseer with doom close by, it realy helps with those to wound rolls
How did your mate charge you from his Wave Serpent ? I though you could only shoot after disembarkin (unless you are Monkei Space Marine in a Land Rainder).
Wel if the transport did not move you can assault if I remember correctly. So in one turn you move your serpent full speed and stay inside. In next turn (if you survive) disembark, flee and charge.
Don’t know about you guys, but my Nobs usually do just fine against termis 😀
Dark Reapers are preaty good at killing Space Marines as well, from a distance.
Yeah Banshee’s are good but they lack the razamatazz of Harlequins. The eldar are all about style, grace and finesse and no unit exemplifies that more than the Harlequins. Yes they’re more expensive, just as frail and much harder to use but once you get the hang of them you can make your opponent’s best units look like chumps.

As someone thinking about starting an Eldar army how would striking scorpions fare in this same situation?
I wouldn’t recomend them mate, scorpions are good against horde but when facing MEQ’s Banshee’s and Harlequins are better and you could make a valid case for saying the Harlequins are better against horde than the scorpions as well. IMO scorpions are the weakest assault troops, the 3+sv str4 and extra attack from the mandiblaster’s is nice but my experinece has been that ithey lack the cutting edge needed that comes from rending and power weapons. Also Harlequins and Banshee’s can hunt monstrous creatures. That said with a farseer nearby pumping out doom scorpions could prove to be effective. If anything… Read more »
Also, Scorpions don’t have Fleet.
It depends on your style of play. They are better against hordes but a full squad will take down most terminator squads due to the volume of attacks. Besides the disadvantages that have been pointed out Scorpions can infiltrate and have plasma grenades. That means you can take down most transports and you can give the exarch a power fist like weapon. If you play with lots of terrain you can give them move through cover. So depending on what you want them to do they can be great. I usually run both Banshees and Scorpions.
remind me 2 not play against eldar, jkjk thanks for the tips!
My Howling Griffon terminators got beat up today by these little ferrets! Fair enough princess arial or whatever he’s called was with them and they flew in a transport, but my 5man tactical squad meltagun guy popped their wagon which gave me a chance to assault cannon them and storm bolter them with my roles of course killed 2, then they jumped in and minced me leaving 1 terminator to take a further 2. That was in turn 2 (flew over turn 1), and yreal or whoever stayed alive to the very end against my team mates valiant Black Templar… Read more »
Banshees are nasty. More than once a squad of these screaming women have found there way to my crisis or stealth teams and hammered them. There not quite the bane that shadowstalker scorpions are to my gunline, but there painful to shift. However i do love watching them kill my mates Ork warboss and his meganobs.
I have quite a few of them but against regular marines they are only very marginally better than scorpions and fleet is counterbalanced by the 3+ armour and the additional attack of the Scorps. However, against Terminators they are the weapon of choice. Generally I try to go with scorpions and if the game is more than 1500 bring in the first banshees. I have seen lists with 2 or 3 squads of Banshees in either Falcons or Serpents with Farseers to be cutting though Chaos Marines like a hot knife. The harleys are just to expensive and to fragile,… Read more »
I didnt know the banshees were that powerful.
well that’s the prob with power weapons they cut down termies,
lucky me that I only use Thunder Hammer Termies with Stormshield ^^
only downsite is see is that, after killing 2 or 3 termies they WILL get shot down by your Tac Squads, ‘cus they got an armor save of 5…. I think
but worse than that are blast templates, got once half my marines army obliderated by the firepower of an Basilisk batterie and Leman Russ squadrons, damn I hate Imps
It’s a pretty tragic Eldar aspect that has a 5+ save. As in… none of them.
what about DE incubi versus terminators? they all have WS5 and S4 power weapon attacks.
Klavex (the sergeant) can even have S6 power weapon attacks.
i manged to kill 20 ork boys with my 10 banshees more then a counple of times there awsum little sace elves on crack 😀
