Effigy Miniatures Needs YOU!
October 6, 2011 by dracs
Tom Mason, who has sculpted miniatures for the likes of Reaper, WizKids and MERCS Miniatures, is setting up a Kickstarter programme to get support for his new models company Effigy Miniatures.
Here's a quick taste of the sci-fi and fantasy figures we can expect to see coming from Effigy.
All I can say is I'm looking forward to seeing what else Effigy will be bringing out.
To get this going Tom needs your support, so head on over to his Kickstarter page and get investing. How can you say no to these faces?
I SO am helping this guy.
The girls are simple and effective, nicely done !
Check out the fantasy miniatures as well… Love the gladiator !

I guess youre not allowd to link vids anymore. They remind me of that spy cartoon totally spies.
They would go well with Infinity I think.
I hope things go well at this stage and he gets more than he is asking for.
Interesting setup. Never heard anyone doing miniatures through Kickstarter. I wish him best of luck!
bet Justin liked these they look like that animai [cant spell] stuff he likes
I like these, but I just wish that people would stop using concepts that, quality-wise, are way above the actual miniatures. Im not meaning to be negative but it sorta ruins my impression of the minis. The recon chick is really good imo, he got the face just right on that one … same comic-book look as the concepts.
I think the paint-job has a lot to do with most of the disappointment we experience sometimes when we see concept art before the actual mini.
That and the fact the surface you draw on is a lot wider than 28mm… And also the fact you can draw special effects and weird positions that aren’t always poractical in sculpting…
Not that it wouldn’t be possible to sculpt, just that it would be nealry impossible ot cast afterwards.

Well guys I’m sure you will all be glad to hear that the 2,000 quid needed to get Effigy going has been met. That’s 2,000 reached in 3 days! So well done to Tom Mason and to any of you who decided to back his project
Needs bigger asses.
