New Dropzone Commander Pre-Orders From Hawk Wargames

A big selection of vehicles from the advent calender over Christmas have now gone up for pre-order for Dropzone Commander. Hawk Wargames announced them through their most recent newsletter...
First up we have the UCM Eagle, the Shaltari Caiman and the Scourge's Harbinger. Each of them is quite the awesome piece of design and there really isn't much out there like it. While I like the alien designs of the Shaltari and the Scourge the UCM's Eagle is the best of the three in my opinion.
On a smaller scale they have also added the Stalkers and the Mercury Scout Drones to the flock of miniatures on offer for this game. Here is where the PHR catch my eye once again, some brilliant miniatures for an awesome faction.

I think the PHR gear has a grace and functional elegance that are a notch above the UCM (though they have some very sexy minis too). Scourge are Alienesque in a nice way. Shaltari – I have not been able to make my mind about yet. Very detailed and clever minis, no doubt but something about them strikes me a odd – well, they are aliens too.
I wonder when the Rebels of whatever they are called will be putting in an appearance.
Perhaps it’s because their vehicles often look like insects? I find that look to be quite appealing, however I find it a bit difficult to imagine how their tripedal walkers would be able to move gracefully while staying balanced.
Who knows, maybe I just think that it’s my turn in my gaming group to have the elegant army 🙂 .
They use similar anti grav systems to the grav tanks that allow the seamless three leg walking
Yeah, resistance definitely needs to be included at some point, mainly because their tech is likely to be a blend of UCM and Scourge, but at the same time not fitting in with either of them.
The PHR drones just look so good. They remind me of something, by I can’t think of it right now
The main hull has something of the shark or killer whale about it.
Now I have got hundreds of people thinking of the main theme from ‘Jaws’… 🙂
