Drop in on the Cityscape of Dropzone Commander
March 18, 2013 by dracs
As you may have heard on the Weekender terrain plays a very important part in Dropzone Commander. Well Hawk Wargames have just announced that they will be releasing Cityscape, a customisable card battle field set!
Containing 20 different card buildings of various sizes, all you have to do is put them together to get an instant and high quality city to battle the alien forces upon.
It has been pointed out to me that this set will be useful, not only for Dropzone Commander, but other games as well, such as Heavy Gear Blitz. Whether that's true or not I'll leave for you to decide.
Does this look like a good way to set up a city for your battles?

amazing! now if only someone would do this in 28mm………..
I got to disagree I love carrying my whole army in a lunchbox size carry case.
pack 1520 fully loaded with metal models that I carried around cincycon this year was a real tough time for me.
They do – check out WorldWorksGames. Mayhem Streets and the Swiftscenic building range is your best bet to churn out a city block or two quickly. Alternatively you can get some of the other Mayhem buildings which are scaled better but more complex to make (with interiors etc).

There is also Battle System. They sell pdf paper terrain to print and assemble. Their next project looks great, also because I don’t have a printer…

They will KS it spring-summer
Good to see that something cheaper than the resin city block is coming out from them. Over $700 for 15 buildings was a bit much for me to swallow.
I’ve started a project and Hawk have been my prime source so far: I’m printing their buildings at 60% scale (in this case; I have also done buildings made for 28mm from elsewhere at 20%) to use in photography and non-hex games of Battletech. I’ll openly accept any additions to their paper scenery range, especially if walkways are involved!
I saw the terrain as the largest blocking point of getting into Dropzone. Of course, the price-point will determine if this is a deal maker but what a great way to open the gates for those new to the hobby or the game (especially if the scale works well with other interest).
30 pound says the newsletter. An excellent price imho. We´ll probably get two sets.
