Dreamforge Preview The Deadly Looking Valkir Troopers

Dreamforge Games show off a few more of the models in the pipeline for their expanding Eisenkern army. This time around it's the Valkir on the preview stage...
The Valkir have been designed to fit in with the rest of the armies aesthetic but also feel slightly different in their bulk and armaments. The name Valkir comes from the Valkyries of Norse legend. To make sure the soldiers of the Valkir are worthy of the name they only choose the most aggressive and those willing to do anything to get the job done.
This was neat too...
"Here we can see some of the possible options for the Valkir uniform. Each platoon is free choose a style of dress, some with tabards and unit colors, others with armored tasses or magazine and utility pouches for storing gear used on campaign. The Valkir are given a great deal of latitude in their dress and personal kit. The only requirement is that the Eisenkern Iron Cross must adorn the right shoulder pad and their unit markings must adorn the left shoulder, in addition to the appropriate rank displayed in the shoulder epaulets."
Some very cool miniatures that will be ace for bulking up that army of yours.
What do you think?
I must say, I really like these ;P
these are going to be excellent
I keep thinking ‘Iron Sky’ every time I see these. I like them.
I do like they give you option to put them together without the battle diapers…I mean, tabards. Because nothing says highly skilled soldiers like a piece of rag dangling between your legs.
Heh, you were not the only person with that outlook on the tabards found in so many sci-fi minis. I like it because it helps ground the figures without needing to resort to bell bottom armor. My fave I think is the rear cloth ‘Hoth style’ and ammo packs.
really cool looking soldiers there … almost looks like you could put some female heads on those and call them sisters of battle, at the same time saving a small fortune.
Looking good, but some one has stuck massive flat headed screws in their guns 😛
Hah yeah it does 🙂 No way around that with the direction of pull on the mold. I am trying to find out if we can use a retracting pin in the tooling to create the hole in the muzzle break but with the size of the barrel I doubt the will be possible.
Find some hollow plastic tube the same diameter as the barrels. Cut it to very short lengths (less than a mm). Glue a piece to the end and smooth over the joint so it looks like one piece except where the slots are. Tell yourself it’s recoil suppression. Or just cut the top half of the split barrel off and say it’s a futuristic AK. Or just carefully (CAREFULLY!) drill it out with a pin vise. Or remind yourself that at real life size, that when it’s sitting on a tabletop at least two feet below eye level and at… Read more »
Battle diapers – deadly weapons. Who wants a dirty one of those flung in their face in the middle of a fight, eh? The horror of it all…. the stench…..
That is a fairly realistic flash suppressor, especially given production limitations.
Those look great. I have to add to my Eiesnkern stormtroopers ( counts as IG ), so these will fit in well.
