DreamForge Games Needs You!
October 14, 2011 by dracs
DreamForge Games' Mark Mondragon is starting up a Kickstarter Programme to help make his Eisenkern Troopers a reality.
Just to whet your appetite here are some shots of the Eisenkern prototypes.
These miniatures will be produced in lead free pewter and promise to be the first in an upcoming selection of different units and factions.
So guys what do you think? Do you like the look of these? Well if you do head on over to their Kickstarter Page and pledge them your support. Do you think you are metal enough for these?
They look a lot like Cog Soldiers from Gears of War.
OH
MY
GOD
Those look really damn good. I’d definitely like to see more.
Might be worth pledging these are what Warganes Factory shock troopers should have looked like
Yes they are fantastic (apart from the sub machine gun, with and without the grenade launcher, just do not like it), but once again I think the price on them is going to be very high, which was why i steered away from MERCS sadly. Just look at the shipping costs to the rest of the world!! Sorry they are lovely minis/designs but there is no way I am paying that price to get them to me.
Kind of related to the news article…… But I was wondering what peoples views of the’Kick Starter’ type programs are?
Do you think they are a great way for products to be funded?
I think its a great way, the minis market is full of little lovelies, yet most of them are hidden, hard to find, or from such a small company that without things like beasts of war we would never hear of them, and therefore be unable to support them. By using the kickstarter we get the warm fuzzy feeling of helping a smaller company, plus getting some groovy minis that we wouldnt normally buy, at a decent price.
I like the heavy sub in the first 2 pics.
Some superb details on these, not sure overall as some nasty bits as well. Might be assembly issues however (eg pic 3 nasty join at waist).
Looking like a good start
They’ve got my $25(+14); I look forward to seeing these guys in the fles- er, plastic.
Only $90 left to go, get in there quick!
These look awesome. Though there might be some IP issues since these guys look very, very similar to the troops from the anime Jin-Roh: The Wolf Brigade.
Are you sure? They look the same as any standard dystopian ‘bad’ soldiers, always dressed in black. I do see your point, and you’re right, but those Wolf Brigade soldiers are kinda generic looking?
Most sci-fi ish dystopian type armoured soldiers are always modifications of the basic Star Wars Stormtrooper, anyway, mind you.
Yeah that is true. The first thing that popped into my head when I saw them was Jin-Roh. I guess if you want anything to look evil you give it that WWII Nazi look.
