Dragon Forge Set the Scene for a Slate Based Showdown
May 15, 2012 by brennon
Dragon Forge Design love their scenic bases and they have just released some simple but effective Slate Bases in varying sizes. Check them out below and see what you think...
While not entirely useful for your Fantasy armies on square bases these sets could be used perfectly well for the likes of Role-Playing and Sci-Fi. It might just be the name sake, but I could imagine a dragon cresting that 120mm Slate Base ready to breath unholy fire over your hapless adventurers.
What would you use these bases for?
A good range of sizes here – mostly Warmahordes specific but the 40mm and 60mm bases could see some table time in 40K or maybe Infinity. These will save time compared to using actual slate or wood chips and the surfaces look fairly level and open so mounting a mini shouldn’t be too hard.
You know I see slate cast bases and think “I can make this easy, just need to add a rock to it”. But then I think can I drill through the rock? Most likely not easy. So this is a good base set that can save so much time and makes it easier to work with.
Thanks for the post and comments. I do have a growing Square base Slate Fantasy line also which I added two new sets to also in this release. You can find them here.
